It's "Christian apologetics lectures" meets "man on the streets" action in this top-notch apologetics film from Crown Rights Media.
Sye Ten Bruggencate, who bills himself as a "dude with a website" (proofthatgodexists.org) takes the viewer through what is known as "presuppositional defense of the Christian faith," or what I like to call, "the plain reading of Scripture." Director David Shannon deftly inter-cuts between Sye's informal lectures to evangelists and Sye's interaction with some--occasionally--hostile atheists on various college campuses. The pace is brisk and the information is very easy to take in and digest.
Interestingly, this documentary builds to a tense climax, which is a third-act confrontation between Sye and a flustered "Christian" who kicks Sye off his debate show. Here we clearly see put into action what Sye has been teaching us for the past hour; rarely has a documentary been THIS effective in illustrating its primary thesis: everybody knows that God exists, and we reveal that we do by knowing things, communicating truths, and holding to absolute standards.
Technically, this film looks slicker than many Hollywood productions costing tens of millions more. The "man on the street" material appears appropriately gritty and the camera gets up close and personal for the climactic apologetic smack-down.
If you're a born-again Christian, you absolutely NEED to watch this film at least three times. The arguments contained therein are solid, Christ- affirming, and absolutely Biblical.
