- Jenny returns and is seconded to the London Hospital, where she meets a fretting mother-to-be. Meanwhile, Chummy's mother visits, a patient of Cynthia's becomes mentally ill, and Tom's nervousness leads to trouble with Trixie.
- Jenny is seconded to the London Hospital's maternity ward, where her first patient, Faye Rawle, is overly anxious and demanding following a miscarriage and Jenny breaks the rules to reassure her before returning to the East End. Sister Julienne is alarmed by new mother Pamela Saint's obsession with cleaning, which is slowly turning to paranoia. This leads to the nun having to save mother and baby when Pamela wants to cleanse them both in the river and to psychiatric admission. Meanwhile Chummy and Peter host her aloof mother, who has left her husband after discovering his infidelity. She is not a grateful guest but, as she is about to leave, collapses and it is revealed that she has cancer. Whilst Trixie continues to date Tom Dr Turner learns that his inability to mention his brief mental break-down in the war could jeopardize the adoption bid.—don @ minifie-1
- Jenny returns and is seconded to the antenatal unit at the London Hospital. There she helps Faye Rawle whose first child was stillborn and is terrified it will happen again. Jenny runs afoul of the Sister in charge and her strict rules however. Sister Julienne and Cynthia deliver Pamela Saint's child but the new mum soon shows symptoms of paranoia and puts herself and her child in danger. Trixie and Tom again have a problem getting together when he cancels their date to go dancing claiming he had to sit with a needy parishioner. He isn't being truthful however and canceled their outing for a simple reason - he can't dance. Patsy's attempt to teach him how to dance is misinterpreted by Trixie when she sees them together. The reason for Dr. Turner's reluctance to seek an adoption is revealed to be something from his war service. Chummy tries to deal with her parents' separation and the fact that her mother has returned to London permanently.—garykmcd
