Smart Script and Great Pacing

The Midnight Ride, the second is a three-episode arc, centers primarily around preparations for an attempt to capture the Headless Horseman himself (or is it "itself"...). The episode is fast paced, streams wildly from scene to scene, setting to setting, and character to character (with many of the latter quickly dispensed of). This episode provides more onscreen violence than most (which is saying something for a show centered around a decapitating demon), but it is also a wonderful puzzle which is not only funny throughout but actually weaves in more factual history than is typicallly incorporated in the twisted-history world of Sleepy Hollow. As an extra treat, Irving is given more meaningful screen time (and strengthens his relationship with Crane) and lamentable Andy Brooks resurfaces. An impressive, smartly crafted, and enjoyable episode.
