Victoria Grayson: [as Charlotte gives laundry to house servant] I see you're still taking advantage of our amenities?
Charlotte Clarke: Who was on the phone?
Victoria Grayson: Oh, just a little surprise I'm planning for the shower.
Charlotte Clarke: Well, since you've suddenly gotten into the spirit of things, maybe you wanna make the welcome toast?
[sighs]
Charlotte Clarke: I lost my phone.
Victoria Grayson: Which relates how?
Charlotte Clarke: Well, I had the speech for Emily saved on there, and I don't have time to re-compose it.
Victoria Grayson: Mm.
Charlotte Clarke: [playfully taunting] Probably for the best, since I didn't inherit your talent for faking sincerity.
Victoria Grayson: It's called being polite. And perhaps we wouldn't have to be if Sara had responded to my appeal. I haven't heard from her all week.
Charlotte Clarke: Maybe because she's too busy sneaking around with Daniel. I noticed her texting with him this morning, so whatever carrot you dangled, it seems to be working.
[her mother grins]
Very memorable to me was that look Charlotte gave Aiden when he agreed to help her as a favor. Christa B. Allen is my main focus as I watch the show, I mean, Emily Vancamp's character is at times kinda near- witchy and almost always too much of a pent-up tiger. Wonderful for the show, but not my idea of a romantic heroine.
As for Daniel, gee whiz, of course he'd choose Sara. How could he possibly choose Emily? She's been dropping clues as to her real nature the whole time AND OF COURSE I KNOW THE JUSTIFICATION BEHIND IT ALL but from Daniel's point of view - run! Sara has motivation for revenge as well, but she's chosen acceptance.
I can't help but notice that Sara seems to be better off for it.
So Emily's way, the path of revenge... Ultimately self-consuning, utterly self-destructive.
Doesn't make me think you should just grin and bear it, no, of course not. But Emily Thorne is clearly doomed herself...
