- There is a great deal of smoking and drinking throughout the entire film -- one of the main characters is trying to break her addiction to cigarettes, and plenty of the characters take long smoke breaks. Lots of drinking occurs at the parties and bars throughout the film, and two characters vomit from excessive drinking. Someone mentions that an area of Manhattan is full of "drug addicts".

- A few scenes are disturbing due to its very visceral depiction of mental over-stimulation due to mental disability. Nothing gruesome is ever shown, but it may cause viewers distress.
