I don't like how the show ended, but there are several episodes, with this one probably being at the top of the list, that pretty clearly foreshadow the mother's fate. Hindsight is 20/20, but I don't hate the ending quite as much now as I did the first time I watched because it really wasn't as abrupt/out of the blue as it initially felt. Knowing how it the series ends, this is truly a beautiful and heartbreaking episode.

This is what everyone's been looking for when the finale of the Ninth Season has started- love, love and lots of love!
From the past three seasons, HIMYM has been a collection of silly jokes, drags and a very few good moments. First half of the final season was more pathetic than ever except for two episodes. Just when we thought it is going to end on a low note, there came the episode, "How your mother met me" which just swept me off the feet with its brilliance.
After that, the show did not look back. All the episodes after that have been elegant and up to the point. And this episode, "Vesuvius" also provides everything that made this show, a hit- Rib tickling humor, Barney's exciting tales, stroke of pure love etc. Every character came back to their true self in this episode. Loved it!

Warning: Spoilers
Another lovely episode that brings us closer to the wedding with a great balance of humor and sentimentality.
Yes, I laughed a lot. When Ted was helping Barney selecting his suit and Barney both remembering where he wore them as well as dreaming about walking up the aisle. And how Lily tried to make Robin behave more like a bride on her wedding day. The idea with the wedding dress she wanted to wear to make Robin get mad is funny.
And the sentimentality also comes up. It starts hitting now that the show is almost over when Lily says how this might be the last time in a long time when they spend time together. Made me cry. As well as Robin running into her mother who managed to come to the wedding. I am looking forward what will come with that.
I just could have lived without the future scenes with the mother. Can't stand everything about her. As well as facial expressions.
