I wish this could have been better Warning: Spoilers
Here we have the 19th Annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards, a television event from 2014, so this one will have its 5th anniversary two years from now. If you are interested in films, especially in Hollywood, then you will find many familiar faces during this awards show, including Oscar winners of course. the big question mark for me, however, is behind Aisha Tyler as she was easily the least known person in the room and that's never a good sign for a host. Besides, her jokes about critics hating films also got repetitive quickly and that's quite an "achievement" given the fact that she really did not have a great deal of screen time. Anyway, at least she wasn't the lowest low in the show as this honor goes definitely to the horribly overrated American Hustle and its equally overrated Director David O. Russell. Pretty painful to watch this mediocre style-over-substance movie triumph in so many categories. I guess we can be glad the Oscars got it right about this film, in terms of wins, not nominations.

The highlight of the evening was probably all the love for Gravity as this was truly a remarkable achievement and this comes from somebody who isn't a Sandra Bullock fan at all. So yeah, some ups and downs during these 85 minutes, but sadly I must say the lows were lower than the highs were higher. Another pretty hilarious moment came from Adèle Exarchopoulos when she accepted her award. Also nice to see the film win as well for Foreign Language Feature. And nice to see Gandolfini nominated I guess, may he rest in peace. The 4 major acting winners here were the same as at the Oscars and 3 of them were locks I guess as they dominated the entire awards season. Good choice for picking Nyongo over Lawrence for sure. So yeah with a little less love for American Hustle, I may have given this one even a thumbs-up, but I just can't. Forest Whitaker (such a talented actor) also deserves to be introduced by somebody other than Oprah. Gotta give this one a thumbs-down and I also could have done without the action categories, especially as these were included and stuff like Best editing was only mentioned very briefly. They need to work on the general idea of these awards for sure. Watch something else instead.
