Sunny talks way too much and over talks the other hosts and is just annoying. You can tell she is an only child because all she talks about is herself. She seems like a nice person but she needs to tone it down about 50 notches and you can tell she annoys the other hosts. If she was just more quiet the show would be so much more enjoyable. This isnt "sunny"s kitchen"!!! God bless her but she makes me want to scratch my eyes out with her constant talking, opinions, talking about her traveling, etc. No one cares!!!!!!!! Show would be better without her. The other 4 are calm and cool and funny and respectful of each other. She always has to make a comment and somehow make the show all about her.

Reading other reviews it seems I'm not alone. Sunny is insufferable. I don't remember her being so obnoxious years ago, but she gets worse and worse with each episode. There's not a moment of breathing room with her constant yapping. When she's not interrupting, she's hooting and hollering and mugging for the camera. I can't hear anyone but her. Why? The show doesn't need this. Can someone at Food Network put a muzzle on her? When she's calm and explaining something she's fine. It's all the other nonsense that has to go.
And please, can she stop calling for things? "I call the end piece!". "I call the spatula!". What is she, 6 years old? It's embarrassing.
Also embarrassing is the way she eats her food. She looks at the camera, unhinges her jaw, and shoves in so much food I hope they're all trained on the Heimlich Maneuver. She never breaks eye contact with the camera, making sure her antics are recorded. Does she think it's funny or cute or "real" to see her cram a whole deviled egg into her mouth? It's uncouth and vulgar. So hard to watch.
I get that she's trying to be a "regular" person. But can't she do it without being so obnoxious?
I hit my Sunny limit today and so I'm writing my sad farewell. I recorded every episode since almost the beginning...but alas, no more.
This makes me sad b/c I love watching the others. GZ especially. He's the most genuine person on the show. I laugh when people call him a snob just because he dresses nicely and makes fancy food and cocktails and/or doesn't know about certain "common" foods. I was laughed at because I had never heard of Funfetti cake and I've never eaten a cup or ramen noodles in my life. That doesn't make me a snob, it just means I don't shop for boxed cake mixes or buy prepared foods. Same with GZ. He's been immersed in the elite culinary/restaurant world. Why would he know about things like Lunchables? That doesn't make him a snob. In fact one of the things I love about him is his genuine appreciation for learning new things; even if those things are common in most households.

I have enjoyed this show for years; however, lately it has been disappointing. Not great recipes anymore. I find it difficult to believe that Katie is a chef...her recipes are awful and usually very easy! As for Sunny, her recipes are always loaded with so many calories and she's gained soooooo much weight that she looks sloppy! All of the chefs on the show immediately offer their dish to Sunny first or she moves close to be the first to taste....cool out Sunny. Her behavior is piggy and annoying and all the crazy shades of lipsticks and hair styles seem a bit unnecessary. Jeff is the coolest of all of them. Geoffrey is just too damn stuck up...oh, well....

I've been reading the reviews on the Food Kitchen some of which go back 5 years. It is sad that the producers have chosen to ignore the comments of their viewers. I too feel that the show would be better if Sunny did not have the attitude that she is the center of attention. Her table manners are atrocious, she talks way too loud, she is disrespectful, she devours food like she has never been feed and she makes watching the show painful. Dial it down Sunny and understand that you are not the show. There are four other individuals who share the space with you. Listen to and respect the viewers. Stop interrupting your co-host and stop with the very bad manners.

I've got to say, I've watched this show since it's inception and still enjoy it. As a foodie I appreciate that they have taken the latest food trends over the years and created interpretations for the home cook. Ie: the rage on kale, cauliflower rice, etc.
In terms of the hosts, please stop hating on Sunny! Is she loud? Yes. Overbearing at times? Certainly. But I like her cooking style and I also think the show would be boring without her! Why does Katie Lee hate her so much? She literally shoots hate daggers at her anytime Sunny speaks. To me, Katie is the one that's annoying with that voice of hers. Just because your cute doesn't mean you can be nasty.
Love Geoffrey Z., with his uptown gentleman's vibe. He brings the Iron Chef, culinary expert vibe to the show. Also, like Jeff M. and his everyday guy, off the cuff style. I don't miss Marcela at all....

Sunny needs a broader vocabulary. For someone who supposedly so worldly she doesn't act it on the show. She has to say "you know what I mean" at least five times a show..... Get it out of your vocabulary and you'll sound intelligent. Hasn't any producer corrected her on this? I'm to the point when I know her segment is coming on I fast forward through it....ya know what I mean?! I love the other hosts!

Back down girl! You always want the first bite if you can't get it you run over and grab some food come on back off a little. Also you don't like losing on the games that you guys play. I think that's why you like to be the judge! You take too big of bites and then trying to talk with food in your mouth!! Come on-my three-year-old great grandson knows better! No matter who has a segment you have to throw in your opinion, your two cents worth, it's NOT all about you all the time!!!! I've taken to muteing when your talking. I've noted that in alot of other reviews people feel the same way, why is that Sonny? I like some of your recipes but I really don't feel like making them because of how you act ! Why do you feel you have to be noticed and better than your co-host?

I watch or record this every Saturday, so obviously I like it. But with Marcela gone and only 4 left, the things that bug me about Sunny and Katie Lee are magnified. Sunny is awful, although lately she seems a wee bit toned down. But it's still too much, too loud, she's a food grabber, and she and talks/chews at the same time. Ugh.
Katie Lee drives me nuts, although I like her recipes a lot. It's the way she talks and rolls her r's ("very frrrrrresh and flavorrrrrrful"). Also, she's very pretty, but seems to enjoy wearing old bedspreads. That sounded a bit petty, but c'mon.
The guys are cool. They're my fave part.

Nothing against Alex Guarnaschelli. She's great as a guest, her own show, a judge. But, on the kitchen she just does not blend in with the rest of the rest of the cast! It was the best show on FN before she came along so fun to watch.. now when she talks I'm like shut up.. or when GZ is explaining his process and she chimes in.. I'm like shut up!! It's GZ!! None of the others do that. Except to poke fun at his perfection! If your going to keep Alex? Put her in remote location status or out on the patio and off the set!!! Please!!! Your ruining the show!

I enjoy this show with the exception of Marcela. I find her obsession with Mexican food and her constant references to Fausto annoying. She also comes across as being uptight, smug and arrogant. I record the show so that I can fast forward through her sections.
I enjoy all of the other hosts. Jeff Mauro is hilarious and I am so glad he still has a spot on Food Network. Unlike many cooking shows, there are often recipes demonstrated that I want to try. The variety of cooking techniques is also appreciated - grilling, baking, roasting, etc. The four good hosts come across as genuine and fun, and their chemistry seems real.

Feel So Much Better Since I Stopped Watching

I used to be obsessed with watching The Kitchen -- followed it through multiple time changes, every weekend and even repeats on Monday. It was fun for the first few seasons, but really lost a lot of its entertainment value when Marcela left. She was kind of a sensible, laid-back personality that balanced the stuffiness and goofiness of the others.
Then Sunny's personality took over the show, drowning out her co-hosts and the food they prepare. I don't know if she does it on purpose or if she cannot help herself. The people behind the scenes must see what the audience sees, but obviously they haven't done enough to make the show bearable. When I last watched, they did have Sunny sitting a lot, which makes it more difficult for her to do her well-documented grab-and-stuff-your-mouth act.
I guess I quit watching after the last break the cast had before Thanksgiving and Sunny looked like she had eaten the whole time. I bet she gained twenty pounds. She is not the only host on FNC to have eaten herself into obesity. Making food for a living must be a frightful life. That is one reason I admire Jeff, who realized he was packing on the pounds and did something positive about it.
Anyway, I quit watching The Kitchen, and that resulted in my turning off my tv entirely. Haven't even missed it. Thanks, Sunny. Ironically I owe you for improving my life -- and I didn't even need a recipe to do it!

... however, some of the hosts don't work well together. Perhaps it's the format - they interact with the audience, but barely talk to each other. I get the impression Geoffrey Zakarian hates being on the show - maybe doing it for the money, because he's totally stuck up (or has no personality). Sunny's manners are pretty coarse - she seems cheerful and nice, but like your well-meaning country-bumpkin cousin who never got a proper upbringing, you tolerate and cringe. Katie and Jeff are cute and funny, love those 2. The recipes are simple and tasty, something normal people would make without having to start days in advance, or spend hours prepping. Definitely worth watching just for the realistic recipes.

I love this show, my husband and I both enjoy it and the entire cast is So great and their interactions are so fun to watch. But We don't understand why Alex Guarnaschelli is on there all the time now. She is just not a good fit at all. She's kind of disturbed the flow of the show. We are not a fan of hers and why fix it if it ain't broke. It was perfect before.

It's such a great show with fun, easy recipes and light hearted upbeat presentation. However, Sunny Anderson is rude, over powering, loud, obnoxious, butts in, a know-it-all, wants to always have 1st & last word, and grabs at the food like she's starving and doesn't seem to keep with the friendly team culture and vibe of the others. I wish her well, but I don't like her on the show. She is hard to watch!

I have stopped watching the kitchen three years ago every time. Because of these 2 ladies. I watch Beat Bobby Flay however if either Sunny or Katie Lee is on the show I change the channel I can't stand them. Not sure how Bobby tolerates them. But then again they are all what are the Food Network so they're in contract to put up with each other unless otherwise told so

Sunny wasn't on the show for a few 2022 shows and it was so nice not having to listen to her or watch her eat. Always referring her start w Emeril. That was ages ago andi guarantee, she was just lucky.
I was hoping she was off the show but surprise surprise..there she was.
If we have to watch her, someone shut her up. And do we have to watch her shove food in her mouth?

When her and Katie are on Beat Bobby Fkay I immediately turn it off. They think they are entertaining, but they make fools of themselves.
Sunny's horrid choice of lipsticks, unflattering clothes...it's ok to be overweight. But shoving huge amounts of food in your mouth and wearing clothing that adds to your figure is stupid.
I'm watching the show right now and I can't tell you how many times she has said 'I'm going to tear that up' in regards to eating.
Please...stop her lip smacking, too.

I love the current lineup on The Kitchen! Everyone kinda has their own thing going on and they have great chemistry. It spans all levels of cooking from easy every day hacks anyone can do to higher end recipes that involve some base knowledge. It's also very educational without feeling like you're being talked down to. I get why some personalities are too much for people individually but I think all mixed together it really works. There is some part of one of them if not all that you can relate to.
ICAG is fabulous, I've grown to love her over IG and think she was the prefect addition to the show. Katie Lee brings a more everyday cook level to the show. GZ adds some refinement and while he can be snobby the fact he fully embraces who he is makes him lovable. I have followed Jeff since Next Food Network Star (or before since he used to cook at my ex husbands work and he would rave about it!) and a sunny, while yes- she is ALOT and can be overwhelming, is real and unapologetic about using store bought premade things to make it easier, and is just bright and cheerful and seems genuinely loving. I was not a fan of Marcela and think they definitely hit a better groove recently. Great Saturday morning watch with a variety of recipes and fun!

Do something about Jeff Mauro please! I don't know if he is insecure, full of himself or what. Watching his interaction with the other cohosts and the camera he seems to act like everything is about him. His acting and behavior is over the top. He sneaks peaks at the camera as if he is making sure the camera is catching his antics. It's beyond cringe worthy. Obviously from the 6 stars I gave the show, I don't love it. But, I pick up tid bits here and there that help me in the kitchen. However, I don't know how long I can continue watching the show with Mauro's obnoxious behavior. And when he hosts? I turn the channel.

I am sick of watching Sunny's relationship with food. She says she has intestinal problems but I have never seen her refuse anything. I do believe she could hurt her co-hosts if they got in the way of her getting the first (or best) bite. She can't wait her turn, but reaches over others, eats with her hands and burns her mouth in her greedy need. Maybe she needs help with an eating disorder. She is also very loud and has terrible manners. She needs help.
