Stunning End to an Amazing Trilogy
michael_the_nermal1 February 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Good ol' Harry Plinkett ends his review trilogy with a stunning dissection of the flaws inherent with the final film of the "Star Wars" prequel trilogy. He analyzes everything wrong with "Revenge of the Sith", from poorly-developed characters, sluggish pacing, and mishandling the themes that made the original trilogy so beloved. He does this with biting humor, which keeps the viewer engaged the entire time. On the negative side, I didn't really care for the side story attached to this review; it really isn't needed. It detracts from the points that Plinkett makes, and it really isn't that funny of a story.

This review did good in making the sinister Emperor into an iconic comedic character. Emperor Palpatine is one of my favorite movie villains, and the saving grace of "Revenge of the Sith". Plinkett impersonates the Emperor with gusto, the way he should, and he just reinforces what an awesome villain he was. Calling Palpatine "Monster Mash" was the icing on the cake. Please watch this review; if you hated the prequels, you'll feel validated and satisfied.

The best of the Plinkett prequel reviews
MissSimonetta12 August 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Though Mr. Plinkett's reviews of The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones are not to be missed, this one is the best. Not only does Plinkett dive deep into why these movies are examples of the greatest flaws of modern Hollywood movie-making with their emphasis on computer-generated spectacle at the expense of plot and character.

The best part of the review is Plinkett's criticism of how these films make Darth Vader the centerpiece of the whole six-film saga, depicting him as a sort of "space Jesus" only because of how iconic the character is in the real world and not necessarily because of how important he is in the films' universe, where he is only "part of a larger story" and not the center piece.

Unlike others, I always thought Mr. Plinkett's monotone voice was rather comical and it's really not so bad. The subplot with the prostitute Nadine feels a little needless, but that's about the only flaw with these reviews. I get the feeling film buffs will enjoy this the most. For those like me who found themselves sorely disappointed with the prequel trilogy, this will prove cathartic.
