The Irish prisoner is the love story between Luisa Ochoa, a young widow that lives in her solitary ranch house and Conor Doolin, an Irish soldier who was taken prisoner after the English invasion of Buenos Aires in 1806, who became involved with a revolution far away from his roots, but closed to the ideal of freedom of his own country. The story takes place at La Carolina, a small charming mining town founded in 1792, embedded in the mountains of San Luis province in Argentina. Surrounded by an epic atmosphere, the film is an intimate story about love, loss and homeland.
