- Mata Mata: A New Era is the second installment of the trilogy and will explore post-independent Singapore in the 1970s; a time where the nation saw great transformation and change. In the new series of Mata Mata, the story picks up from where Season 1 ended. Set in post-independent Singapore in the 1970s, the drama centres around two sisters who were separated after their parents' brutal deaths and reunited 15 years later. Younger sister Margaret (Rebecca Lim) was kidnapped when she was 5 years old. She was eventually adopted by a domestic servant and grows up to join the police force as a female constable. Margaret will eventually find her long lost sister, Helen (Priscelia Chan), but as the plot unfolds, she will have to choose between justice and kinship.
- The third and final installment of the Mata Mata trilogy focuses on Singapore's rapid growth from the 1980s to present day. In the eighties, Singapore faced internal threats such as the increase of drug use and the prevalence of secret societies. This series follows the stories of several officers as they work hard to curb growing crime rates. Police Officer Patricia Yeo (Shu An Oon) was once a juvenile and understands criminal behavior. She uses her knowledge to crack many cases. However, her past catches up with her and her former gang members are now pursuing her. Patricia's ex-boyfriend, Tommy Foo (Desmond Tan), is released from prison. He is protecting her from the gang leader whom she has betrayed in the past. As danger closes in on her, will she finally be able to overcome the inner-demon that has been haunting her?
