Sex & Nudity

  • Some immigrants are implied to be prostitutes.
  • The main menu has a toggle button to turn nudity on or off.
  • The only time nudity is present is if the player decides to subject someone to a "random search" where they scan the person's body to find contraband. The scan produces a full-body photo of the person's front and back. If nudity is turned off, the person in the photo will only be shown in their undergarments.
  • If nudity is left on, the photos will show the person naked. However, the pixel art in the game makes genitalia barely visible while buttocks and breasts are more obvious.

Violence & Gore

  • People who crosses the border illegally are shot at as they throw bombs at the guards.
  • Later in the game the player can shoot people who try to cross the border illegally.
  • As part of the story, some people who are let in commit suicide bombings to kill the guards at the border.
  • Bombings result in severed limbs and illegal immigrants are lying in a puddle of blood after being shot. The pixel art reduces the intensity of the violence, but it's still clear what's going on.

Profanity

  • Strong language in the form of text scattered throughout.
  • Rare uses of "Fuck," with frequent use of "shit"

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Only mild drug references.
  • As a border immigration inspector, there is a possibility that you will find someone trying to smuggle drugs into the country. These usually take the form of small packets or syringes taped to the person's body (see Sex & Nudity section).

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The game takes place in a dystopian past where the player decides who gets to enter the country.
  • The game gets a little emotional when people use excuses like meeting their spouse or children to get through, but have to be turned away due to incorrect information on their documents.
  • Can be somewhat frightening when suicide bombings/illegal crossings occur and trip the alarm.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The game follows an immigration officer in a totalitarian country and deals with mature themes such as corruption, terrorism, poverty, illness, paranoia and even prostitution and murder. Characters are distressed, unfairly persecuted and killed: often the player is forced to make choices which may ruin other characters or cause their death.
