Squealer is one of two films, the other being Chad Ferrin’s Pig Killer, inspired by Canadian serial killer, rapist, and possible cannibal Robert Pickton. Pickton killed as many as 49 women and fed many of the bodies to the pigs on his farm, others he allegedly ground up and added to pork that he sold to the public.
Squealer begins on an equally sensational note as a silhouetted figure armed with a machete chases a naked woman through some scrubland. She’s struck by an Rv whose occupants take her to the hospital.
Lisa, a social worker who tries to help the local sex workers wants to find out who is responsible, especially after the woman panics and runs from the hospital and gets hit by a truck.

Producer and broadcaster Jtbc has such a strong track record of making attractive and successful Korean TV drama series from tales of everyday lives that almost everything it does is likely to attract attention. Adding the presence of Son Ye-jin, star of Studio Dragon and Netflix hit “Crash Landing on You,” makes “Thirty-Nine” potentially one of the hottest Korean series of 2022.
The title is a reference to the age of three female friends who are only just the right side of forty. The 12-part romantic drama depicts them juggling life, work and relationships as they approach mid-life.
Son, who had the starring role in early 2000s blockbuster films “The Classic” and “April Snow” but in recent years has focused more on TV, plays the head of a dermatology clinic in Seoul’s affluent Gangnam district. She is joined by co-stars Jeon Mi Do (tvN’s “Hospital Playlist”) as a drama...

Octavia Spencer will be honored with the James Schamus Ally Award at the 2021 Outfest LA LGBTQ Film Festival.
The award will be presented to the actress and producer at Dtla’s Orpheum Theatre on August 22, as part of the festival’s Closing Night Gala.
The Ally Award was created “to honor the efforts of an individual in bringing LGBTQ stories to the forefront.” It takes its name from Oscar-nominated producer James Schamus, who was awarded Outfest’s Achievement Award in 2014. Past honorees include James Franco, Andra Day, and Rita Moreno.
At this year’s festival, Spencer isn’t just an honoree. She also has a film making its world premiere, titled Right to Try, which she produced with Brian Clisham and Stephanie Kluft, via her Orit Entertainment banner.
The documentary short tells the story of Jeffrey Drew, who puts his life on the line to try and help find a cure for HIV.

This Star Trek: Lower Decks article contains spoilers.
With most new Star Trek shows, locating the Easter eggs and references takes probably at least two viewings. But, with Lower Decks, you can watch an episode four times and still be missing references and Easter eggs. This is saying something when you also consider that these episodes are half as long as episodes of Discovery or Picard. So, with that in mind, like in the previous episodes, there is almost certainly something we missed in trying to gather all the Easter eggs and references from Lower Decks episode 4, “Moist Vessel.”
From a surprise guest star (Haley Joel Osment) to a heartwarming story about Mariner and Captain Freeman (briefly) becoming allies, this episode was about a lot more than just Easter eggs. But that’s not why you’re here. You came for the Trekkie eggs and you shall have them!

To celebrate the release of Beyond The Sky – available on DVD & Digital Download 29th April – we have a DVD to giveaway! An engrossing supernatural thriller that at times feels like a found-footage documentary, Beyond The Sky is both an evocative journey into the unknown, and a portrait of the community built around one of modern day’s most prolific myths.

I love a good Peter Stormare performance and we've got your chance to win a copy of one of his latest.
Fulvio Sestito's Beyond the Sky stars Ryan Carnes as Chris Norton, a documentary filmmaker intent on making a movie that debunks alien abduction stories but when he meets Emily Reed, Jordan Hinson, a young woman who was abducted as a teen and returned, his determination is tested and he starts to think that maybe everyone isn't lying after all and that there's more to the alien abduction phenomenon than he first thought.
The movie also starts Stormare and Dee Wallace in supporting roles.

Happy Halloween, everyone! While I know it’s a bittersweet feeling that our favorite holiday is finally upon us, that doesn’t mean we have to bid the horror genre farewell any time soon. In fact, there are a ton of great genre films hitting VOD and a variety of digital platforms throughout the month of November, which should help with the sting of it no longer officially being the spooky season.
November’s digital releases kick off on Friday with Possum, Welcome to Mercy, and Monster Party, and then just a few days later, get ready for Death House, Kin, The Heretics, Beyond the Sky, and Blood, Sweat and Terrors on November 6th. One week later, the cyber thriller Searching hits various platforms (and is definitely worth a watch), and there are a few more titles making their digital debuts that day as well: Blue My Mind, Lasso, and Bloody Ballet.

If you're a big fan of alien films like Fire in the Sky, then you'll want to keep an eye out for Beyond the Sky, which explores the eerie subject of alien abductions. Ahead of the movie's theatrical, VOD, and Digital HD release on September 21st from Rlje Films, Daily Dead had the chance to catch up with Beyond the Sky director Fulvio Sestito for our latest Q&A feature, in which he talks about researching alien abductions, working with talented cast members such as Dee Wallace and Peter Stormare, and what projects he has on tap.

Fulvio Sestito: The idea started with wanting to tell a very personal story about a documentary filmmaker whose childhood memories shape his view of the world and drive him to explore the alien abduction phenomenon.

It’s finally happening: the final countdown to the greatest time of the year is officially upon us! If you're into UFOs and stories about alien abductions, I've got a trailer here for a film you might be interested in called Beyond The Sky. The movie doesn't look like a great film, but it looks like it will be something that I'd enjoy watching. The film follows a skeptic who embarks on a journey to uncover the truth of alien abductions, and as you might expect, things take an interesting and scary turn for him as he come to realize the truth. Here's the synopsis:
Chris Norton has been hearing about alien abductions his entire life but, in his gut, he knows they are not real. Setting out to disprove the alien abduction phenomenon once and for all, he attends a UFO convention to meet alleged abductees and reveal the truth behind their experiences. It is only when he meets Emily, who claims to have been abducted every seven years on her birthday,...

While shooting a documentary to expose the lies of alien abductees, a provocative filmmaker and his crew encounter a young woman with a dark secret who leads them to uncover a disturbing truth. The film has gone under a few other titles, including Encounter and False Memory Syndrome, but will be released as Beyond The Sky. I can describe the third episode of American Gods simply as the episode where "everything begins to gel." A prime example of this is the relationship between Shadow and Wednesday, displayed beautifully by Ricky Whittle and Ian McShane.
An incredible performance out of Ian McShane is to be expected. The man has a resume and a body of work that demands respect. He slides ever so comfortably into the overcoat of Mr. Wednesday without skipping a beat. Whittle, on the other hand, is relatively unknown in the business, having only a few roles before this. Yet, it is here in this episode, where he shows not only that he can hang with McShane, but hold a scene on his own and stand out.
Whittle shows his comfort playing Shadow in specific moments here: when he meets Zorya Polunochnaya, played by Erika Kaar, and has his rematch with Czernobog,...
