Terrific season finale adds to a very good television show.

It's not just the adoption of the partial Indian child, it's the ramifications that it has for the two competing firms that forms the basis for this episode.

Never underestimate the power of technology. That open phone line really presents a challenge and proves to be most embarrassing for all concerned.

With the Florrick candidate for State Attorney General forced to bow out to avoid a major scandal, Peter and Gold look for Diane to run for the office. She refuses and at the end, when Gold looks at Felicia and poses his thought to her, her reaction in itself facial wise, is enough to conclude the season.

The two mothers-in-law really act it out in this episode and Zack graduates from school and is off on summer adventure. The way that Alicia looks at him as he departs is proof in itself that he has come of age.

Cary and Alicia show conflict as the two argue over whether or not to merge with Lockhardt-Gardner-Canning. Diane's suggestion at a meeting with the two of them is a real shocker. Of course, she sees where her firm is headed to with Lewis Canning in the mix.

Jerry Adler, as Howard Lyman, is a scene stealer in every way. His presence in the show is a major endorsement for forced retirements.
