Today it is our pleasure to ask John Swab, director of Little Dixie, some questions before the movie premieres in a few days. Firstly, thank you for your time to be interviewed and, first things first: What sensations do you have on the premiere of Little Dixie?
A: We are very excited to premiere this in Rotterdam, then share with the rest of the world. All of these are labors of love. Little Dixie we are especially proud of.
Q: You team up again with Frank Grillo after Ida Red (2021) and Body Brokers (2021). What is your relationship with the star? Was Frank Grillo the inspiration for Little? What does John Swab bring to it and what does Grillo bring to the movie?
A: Frank has become a dear friend and collaborator to myself and producer, Jeremy. We think of him as our modern-day Charles Bronson. With a film like this,...

Stoker Hills gets down to business early, starting with a lecture on film by Professor Smith. That gets the film’s celebrity cameo out of the way in the film’s first five minutes. It also uses those scenes to introduce the three of his students who will be the film’s leads, aspiring filmmakers Ryan, Jake (Vince Hill-Bedford; American Fighter) and Erica.
While shooting their class project, a zombie hooker film entitled Streetwalkers, which was also Stoker Hills’ original title, a car drives by and stops just long enough to drag Erica in before racing off with Ryan and Jake in pursuit with their camera still running.

Kerry Mondragon's indie drama thriller and feature film debut Tyger Tyger, starring Dylan Sprouse - looking to make a clean break from anything Disney related - and Sam Quartin (Let Me Make You a Martyr), is being released by Gravitas Ventures in select theaters, drive-ins, digital/VOD on February 26th. They have released a trailer for Tyger Tyger, which you will find below with a collection of stills from the production. The trailer's breakneck assembly gives glimpses of Maondragon's elevated style, though there is little sense of what the story is about in it. If you can keep up though there are some very pretty images in there, which alone may make this worth checking out for some. That the story takes place during a pandemic...

One of the worst moves you can make to a movie is to mislabel it. In this day, labels matter. And so applying the wrong one can really sink a movie’s ability to get audiences interested. Such is the fate of a movie coming out of this year’s Fantasia and making its way straight to VOD, Let Me Make You A Martyr. This is a movie with a lot of good things going for it, but unfortunately, it’s listed on many sites as a crime movie rather than a thriller. And it is very much a thriller.
Let Me Make You a Martyr is the story of Drew Glass (Sons of Anarchy star Niko Nicotera), an adopted son with a crime boss father (Mark Boone Junior), who returns home to make things right and rescue his adopted sister (Sam Quartin) whom he is in love with. But...

For those who may have missed it in theaters, Gore Verbinski’s wildly surreal tale of psychological horror, A Cure For Wellness, is coming out on both Blu-ray and DVD courtesy of 20th Century Fox. We also have several indie horror films arriving on June 6th, including The Axe Murders of the Villisca, Aaron’s Blood, Prisoner X, Let Me Make You A Martyr, and Manhattan Undying.

"My daddy used to sing me a song..." FilmRise has debuted the first official trailer for a small town indie thriller titled Let Me Make You a Martyr, from filmmakers Corey Asraf & John Swab. This is sort of a continuation of their 2014 short film Judas' Chariot. The film stars Marilyn Manson as a hitman hired by two adopted siblings who devise a plan to kill their abusive father. The cast includes Mark Boone Junior, Sam Quartin, Niko Nicotera, Michael Potts, William Lee Scott, and Slaine. This is an intriguing trailer that uses one chilling scene with Manson to introduce us to the film, and it's very effective. See below. Even knowing that Marilyn Manson stars in the film “Let Me Make You a Martyr” doesn’t prepare you for the person you’re going to see in the film. Without the over-the-top costumes and makeup, Manson looks almost unrecognizable as he plays a hitman in the film. In the first trailer, he will definitely creep you out.
The trailer isn’t so much a trailer as it is a quick scene from the film.

Let Me Make You A Martyr, a revenge thriller about a pair of grown-up siblings who plan to kill their abusive father, has been in the works for quite some time. But now it’s finally coming out, and The A.V. Club has an exclusive new trailer for the film. Marilyn Manson plays a hit man hired by the dad to take out his rebellious son, and as you can see from the above trailer, it looks like he might enjoy his job. Writer-directors John Swab and Corey Asraf describe the film thusly: “We set out to tell a story that was true to us and our struggles with addiction and abuse. After 10 years of dreaming and never giving up, we are thrilled to finally share this film with the world.”

No surprise, gothic rocker Marilyn Manson felt right at home on the set of Wgn America’s period thriller “Salem.”
The show, which returns for its third season on Wednesday night, adds several new characters this season – including Manson as the sadistic barber/surgeon Thomas Dinley. The set for Dinley’s office includes strange, dangerous-looking surgical instruments and bottles of formaldehyde with things floating in it.
“He walked in and said, ‘Oh, I’ve got that at home, I’ve got that at home,'” said executive producer Brannon Braga. “He fit right in.”
Manson (who also produced the show’s theme song) plays a character based on the real-life 17th century barbers who would also slice patients open for surgery. “He’s kind of a cross between Vidal Sassoon and Jack the Ripper,” Braga said. “There’s a little Sweeney Todd in there. There’s a lot more to Corey Asraf and John Swab‘s debut feature Let Me Make You a Martyr than meets the eye. It looks like your run-of-the-mill revenge thriller with its prodigal son (Niko Nicotera‘s Drew Glass) returning home after an extended stay away to right the wrongs of the past. His adoptive father Larry (Mark Boone Junior) is a drug supplier, sex trade entrepreneur, and who knows what other heinous crimes that set up whatever unknown incident happened to fracture their relationship—something neither can come back from without the other being dead. But before Drew can set things straight and escape this Oklahoma town for good, he must also find his adopted sister and one true love June (Sam Quartin). Without her the rest is meaningless.
We infer it was systemic abuse and exploitation that turned Drew against his father. Why else would a guy...

Marilyn Manson is best known as the frontman of the Marilyn Manson band, whose music garnered much controversy from politicians and the public for their nihilistic lyrics, graphic imagery, and provocative statements. Manson got tied up in the aftermath of the deadly Columbine shooting when he was blamed by politicians and the media for inciting the violence with his music. Manson has appeared in many films including David Lynch’s “Lost Highway,” Michael Moore’s “Bowling For Columbine,” in which he discussed the media’s interest in scapegoating rather than focusing on broader societal issues, and a recurring role on FX’s “Sons of Anarchy.”
Mark Boone Junior is best known for his role on “Sons of Anarchy,” along with his performances in Christopher Nolan’s “Memento” and “Batman Begins,” Terrence Malick’s “The Thin Red Line,” and David Fincher’s “Seven.” He will soon appear in Nate Parker’s “The Birth of a Nation,” about Nat Turner, the leader of a slave rebellion in Southampton County, Virginia in 1831.
“Let Me Make You a Martyr” will premiere at Fantasia Film Festival in Montreal next month. Manson will be in attendance.

Marilyn Manson is virtually unrecognizable as a troubled hit man in Let Me Make You a Martyr, a film that looks and sounds like an instant indie crime classic. A cerebral revenge film about two adopted siblings who fall in love, and hatch a plan to kill their abusive father, the film looks to be a throwback to crime films of the 90s.
Besides Marilyn Manson, the film stars Sons of Anarchy's Mark Boone alongside Niko Nicotera, Sam Quartin, George Carroll and Michael Potts.
Synopsis:
Lmmyam takes place in two alternating realities – one during the events from Drew’s arrival until his inevitable death, and the other existing in what our audience assumes is Drew’s lucid mind. In this realm, Drew befriends a callus, rude, and ultimately homicidal old [Continued ...]...

For the first time since September 2008, fans of Sons of Anarchy now have nothing to look forward to. Though creator Kurt Sutter remains open to the idea of exploring more of the club’s world, whether it’s through a miniseries about the First 9 or a spin-off centered around the Mayans, Sons of Anarchy as we know it is over, and the tale of Jax Teller is definitively concluded.
While Sutter has moved his focus to his upcoming series The Bastard Executioner, his former cast has already stacked their futures up with enough roles in film and television to keep them busy for years to come.
In honor of the show, let’s catch up with the cast and see what they’re working on today, now that their time on Sons is behind them. While the series featured a sprawling cast of memorable characters big and small over its seven-year run,...
