The Blooper Reel
boblipton14 February 2021
From the middle of the 1930s and at least through 1949, folks at Warner Brothers assembled, edited and projected for in-house meetings, annual BREAKDOWNS: shots blown by the actors, after which they usually let vent in a spasm of foul language, edited into a clip reel. This, as you might have already guessed, is their compilation for 1942.

That's not all it consists of. It begins and ends with some optical tricks on various performers, shows director Edmund Goulding ridiculously showing an actres how to play a scene, and similar nonsense. Ever wonder how those performers memorized their lines perfectly? Or thought they wrote them themselves? Well, they didn't.
