These films of 2014 deserved better and should have got a larger audience:
1. Ugly: A beautiful portrait of the darkest areas of the human heart, where greed, guilt and gluttony scamper freely for space. Anurag Kashyap’s film was swamped by the “Pk” wave that hit the theatres at year-end.
2. Aankhon Dekhi: Rajat Kapoor’s haunting portrait of a man on the brink of self-abnegation, looking for reasons to cling to the illusion called life, finding it increasingly hard to go through the motions of existence. Actor Sanjay Mishra’s ‘everyman’ act was exemplary.
3. Children Of War: Debutant director Mrityunjay Devrat recreated the horrors of the Bangladesh war of independence with the authentic passion of Spielberg’s “Schindler’s List”. As a brutal concentration camp officer, Pavan Malhotra was a dazzling embodiment of evil.
4. Sulemani Keeda: Amit Masurkar bitter-sweet tale...

Three notable films release this weekend – Hate Story 2, Amit Sahni Ki List and Pizza. Each of these three films is a mid-budget affair and doesn’t have stars hogging the limelight. While Hate Story 2 is as commercial a film as it gets, Amit Sahni Ki List and Pizza are concept films with a different storyline to offer. Also, Hate Story 2 is a part of the Hate Story franchise that was conceptualized by Vikram Bhatt and had resulted in a Paoli Dam success story directed by Vivek Agnihotri. On the other hand Pizza is the namesake remake of a Tamil horror flick with an urban set up to it. Between the three films, Hate Story 2 would get the biggest release as it has a solid backing of T-Series. The songs have been well promoted which has ensured some good visibility too. Being inspired by counterparts from the West is not a new thing for Bollywood actors, especially the ones who are just starting off their career. Moreover, when due credit is being given, it is more of a homage coming into play. This is what’s happening to Vega Tamotia as well who has picked style tips from none less than Cameron Diaz for her leading lady act in Amit Sahni Ki List.
Informs our source, “Those who are familiar with Cameron Diaz’s work would be aware of the fact that she creates her own style. She doesn’t necessarily follows trends and at times even comes across as a non-conformist. So she would find her wearing a designer dress with a cheap bracelet and still that would look amazing on her. Now that was the essence of styling that was required for Vega’s character in the film as well.

A few years back it was a battle of Ladies v/s Ricky Behl with Ranveer Singh as the center of attraction. Circa 2014 and there are three ladies who are coming together to support Amit Sahni in his endeavor. The film in question is Amit Sahni Ki List which features Vir Das as the central protagonist. Meanwhile the ladies who are coming together are Tina Nagpaul, Kavita Kulkarni and Sujata Vemuri.
Interestingly, none of them carry any filmy background and were actually in New York together as professionals working in different banks. Fate brought them together and they created and performed shows for charity. While that was 10 years ago, it turned out that the friendship between this trio was pretty much for the keeps. Being film buffs helped and together, they decided to take a step forward and make a film of their own.
