"Throuple" was originally put into production in 2008. The film had approximately three days of filming before it went on to conduct re-shoots, b-roll, voice-dubbing and other necessities. Before such could take place, the original lead star of the film, Caleb Carter, passed away forcing the film to be shelved indefinitely.
In 2014, writer James Townsend, stumbled upon a copy of the original script in a storage box. The script contained all of the original handwritten notes, doodles, inside jokes, etc. from the original cast. The finding sparked interest into the project again and he decided to push forward in producing it from start to finish with a new cast.
Pictures of the original cast (James Townsend, Caleb Carter) make appearances as prop pieces throughout the film. As the story continues, the photos are replaced with images of the new 2017 cast.
A lot of the cast felt that the house used as the primary location was haunted. Several odd experiences took place, with one moment even being caught on video.
If you pay attention the the large wall clock in the living room, it is almost always "3 PM" in THROUPLE, minus one scene in which a slight time difference is shown to tell you a character is lying about their daily commitments.
