Great acting doesn't all make a good film
OJT7 February 2016
The Wendy Effect is a dark comedy from the team behind "Chasing Berlusconi", "King Curling" and also the director of more famous TV-series like "Etaten" and "Lilyhammer". So you rally know what you get, and this is both well made and funny. The characters are well planned, and the acting is gold. What's then the trouble? It's the lack of plot and ideas which makes this score only a 6/10 for me, and that might even be on the kind side.

It's such a travesty that all the good work that has been put into this doesn't work because of the script. And Ole Endresen, which really know how to direct, and really also know how to make a film, and above all gets films made. But it's about time he realizes that he needs a couple more to look at the script before the film goes near production. The jokes aren't as funny as the actors and the characters deserve.

Christian Skolren is fabulous in his role. So is the gangster Jouko Ahola. And the rest is really good.

Ole Endresens films always have great characters and he also manages to convince good actors and comedians to participate. It's so sad that the lines, gags and jokes doesn't at all hold up with the rest of the quality in the project.

I really liked "King Curling", though some gags could have been better also her. "Chasing Berlusconi" was bad. again the same as with this. Yoo hasty in making it into film, because the script wasn't ready. "The Wendy Effect" is still a lot better than "Chasing Berlusconi".

I really want to see more of this kind of dark comedy, so I really hope that Endresen takes notice of this constructive criticism, and gets help om the script. He has many great comedians in his "company" - why not ask them to go through the script!?
