- Still operating without Oliver and desperate to stop Brick, Team Arrow is forced to consider Malcolm's offer to help shut Brick down as Malcolm has a personal score to settle with the felon. Roy and Laurel point out that the team could use some help to save the innocents of The Glades, but Felicity is adamantly against it. They look to Diggle to make the final decision. Meanwhile, the flashbacks chronicle Malcolm's descent from kind-hearted father and husband to cold-blooded killer after the murder of his wife.
- We begin with Queen leaving his mountain cabin/hospital. He asks Tatsu to join him, but she declines, saying she's not interested in rejoining the world.
With police having been pulled from the Glades, the team is trying to help keep people safe as much as possible. Lance is helping the efforts, sending Felicity information on Brick.
During training with Thea, Malcolm tells her that with the League breathing down their necks she needs to be prepared to kill. We flash back 21 years to Malcolm being told his wife is dead has been killed.
Lance asks Roy about Sara. He doesn't say anything about her death.
Struggling to figure out how to get at Brick, Felicity figures out that his gun was used in a shooting 21 years earlier. Brick killed Malcolm' wife, Rebecca Merlin. And Malcolm is watching this via a hidden camera he's placed near Felicity's work station.
Tatsu changes her mind and joins Queen on his way home through the woods. They talk about the fact Ra's will eventually be coming for Queen and Thea. She thinks his only hope is to find one of Ra's' students.
Malcolm informs Thea he's learned that his wife's death remains unavenged. Back in our flashback we see Rebecca's gravesite just after the funeral. Malcolm sits with a man who passes him the photo of a "person of interest" the police have identified.
Team Arrow uses Brick's walkie-talkies to locate his location. Felicity cuts the power as Roy and Laurel move inside. At the last minute Malcolm shows up to save their butts.
Malcolm asks Team Arrow if the group wants to team up.
Thea tells Roy she doesn't like the direction her father has taken.
Following a vote Digs tells Malcolm they won't be partnering with him, in part because they don't want to "become you."
Back in his flashback we see Malcolm in a dark alley tracking down the man he believed was responsible for Rebecca's death. The man beats the untrained Malcolm badly, but as he walks away Malcolm is able to grab his gun and fire.
Before they part ways Tatsu further advises Queen on the sacrifices he'll have to make to defeat Ra's.
We rejoin the flashback after the shooting. Malcolm is preparing to leave town. What happened has done nothing to help his anger and he's heard of a place that might be of assistance. He tells young Tommy he's going to a place where he'll be able to learn how to defend the family.
Laurel suggests they use Glades residents for assistance. She goes to see Grant and Roy pays Sin a visit.
Brick sends out a team of his men to go against an army of citizens assembled by Team Arrow. During the melee Malcolm and Brick find one another and a huge fight ensues. Malcolm gets the better of him and holds Brick's gun to his head, saying "this is for Rebecca." Brick says he killed her in part as initiation into a gang. Just before Malcolm kills Brick, Arrow arrives on the scene and tries to talk him out of yet another killing. He asks her to consider Thea.
Arrow takes to the top of a bus and promises the masses he will not fail his city again.
Lance runs into Sin on the street. She tells him that the person wearing the Canary outfit is not Sara.
Queen tells Thea he's been in jail the past few weeks. He and Malcolm exchange a pleasant handshake in front of Thea. After Thea leaves the room Queen asks Malcolm to train him to face Ra's
We flash to Malcolm's seeking out training at the temple. He uses magic to win them over.
Queen thanks his team for their work in his absence. He tells them about being in partnership with Malcolm to try and defeat Ra's. This bothers Felicity, who storms out of the room. Queen follows her and she tells him she doesn't want to be a woman he loves.
