This was a great episode with Stefan Damon and Alaric teaming up which led to some fun scenes, Kai and Bonnie scenes and the flashbacks to Kai's past were great as well.

Elena and Caroline set up for Thanksgiving. Caroline has the table beautifully decorated. Jo has informed Alaric said he won't be coming. Elena calls Alaric and it turns out the guys are going on a trip. Alaric, Damon and Stefan are going to find out more about how they can bring Bonnie back as she is alive. Elena and Caroline are shocked to hear this.
Damon comments that Caroline is objectively hot and that she doesn't have anything missing for Stefan. Alaric then comments that she chose to have sex with Damon though.
After frustration Stefan kicks Cuddles into the air which triggers the mansion to appear. Alaric can enter the room uninvited. Stefan and Damon contact Jo who invites them into the home while she is dying at the hands of her father. Her father is burning the Ascendant which will kill her and not allow Kai to ever merge with his twin. In their coven, twins become the leader and they have to merge. The more powerful one kills the younger one. Jo hears her voice in the home video that Luke is playing. They realize they are siblings.
Kai stabs Bonnie and takes off with the car. He has absorbed the magic in Jo's knife that she placed in the tree trunk.
