Taylor Swift's Publicist Demolishes Gossip Report Singer was Married to Joe Alwyn Before Their Split
Taylor Swift‘s publicist Tree Paine just responded to the rumor that the singer was married to Joe Alwyn at some point before their breakup earlier this year.
The couple dated for six years before going their separate ways in April 2023. Over the course of their time together, Taylor wrote many songs that fans believe are about Joe.
Their relationship has come under scrutiny again after Taylor uploaded a song called “You’re Losing Me” to streaming services this week. The song charts the end of a relationship and some fans believed that it was about Joe.
However, cowriter Jack Antonoff revealed that it was written years before Taylor and Joe‘s split.
Amid the new rumors about the couple’s relationship, celebrity gossip account Deuxmoi insisted that Taylor and Joe had some sort of ceremony akin to a wedding years ago.

Not so long ago, the only Australian TV shows imported by the UK and US were soaps and the odd kids’ series. Neighbours, Home & Away, Prisoner: Cell Block H, Heartbreak High, and child trauma factory Round the Twist went overseas, but not much else.
It didn’t make for a very complete picture. 30 years ago, if you’d asked a British person to conjure up Australia based solely on its available TV output, they’d have pictured a land of bait shops, haunted lighthouses, prison wings, and cul de sacs where good neighbours become good friends. Ask one now, and thanks to streaming, it’d be a much broader church, based on viewing comedies, thrillers, dramas, detective shows and more.
Here are some of the best Australian TV series currently available to stream in the UK and US. We’ll update this selection as new series arrive.

“Siblings Minato and Akira Lee have moved to a new town, and they’re expecting things to be different— but not this different! Ghostly figures tower over and pass through buildings, drawing no reaction from the locals, some of whom appear far from normal themselves. When Akira spots a strange creature outside her window, she and her new friends organize a search. If no one else can explain the uncanny appearances, the investigation club will get to the bottom of it!” (Yen Press)

I’m not the biggest fan of documentaries, and with time, my dislike for them only grows. Glitch: The Rise And Fall Of HQ Trivia is one of the documentaries that I had no interest in because I had unfortunately never heard of the game, and the mouthful of a title alone makes me uninterested in what it has to say. Subjective thoughts aside, Glitch very clearly pushes a certain agenda with a singular point of view, making it hard to take seriously. It’s Quiz Daddy’s show from start to finish, and that’s possibly not what people are looking for going into the show. There’s really nothing positive to take away from the documentary, and that’s what makes it not so fun to watch, either. Tech companies and their growth are worth talking about and looking at, but this movie does so little about the...

This JUNG_E article contains spoilers.
From Yeon Sang-ho, the director of Train to Busan, JUNG_E is a sci-fi drama set in a dystopian future where the Earth has been ravaged by climate change and is no longer habitable. Humans are forced to abandon the planet for man-made shelters in space, though not every shelter is on board with their proposed leadership. What remains of humanity becomes engulfed in a civil war between the Allied Forces and the Adrian Republic.
But there’s more to JUNG_E than war games and big CG-laden battles. Deep down, Sang-ho’s newest film is about the ethics of AI bred for war and the commercialization of death. JUNG_E tells the story of Captain Yun Jung-yi, a legendary soldier whose failed final mission leads to her brain being cloned by a military AI development company, Kronoid, in an effort to design the ultimate robotic soldier in her image.

Starz has ordered a second season of “Dangerous Liaisons,” days ahead of its series premiere on Nov. 6.
Alice Englert (“The Power Of The Dog”) and Nicholas Denton (“Glitch”) play literary lovers-slash-enemies Marquise de Merteuil and Vicomte de Valmont. The series imagines a prelude to Laclos’ 18th-century novel in which the pair meet in Paris and have a passionate affair on the cusp of the French Revolution. The couple must rely on their manipulation of the French nobility and themselves to survive: Camille (Englert) is taken in by the current Marquise (played by Lesley Manville) while Valmont chases after a title that was recently stripped from him.
The series also stars Kosar Ali, Carice van Houten, Hilton Pelser, Fisayo Akinade, Michael McElhatton, Nathanael Saleh, Colette Dalal Tchantcho, Hakeem Kae-Kazim, Tom Wlaschiha, and Paloma Faith.
Season 2 is expected to begin shooting in early 2023 in Prague, Czech Republic.

The Busan International Film Festival has unveiled a selection of nine series for its On Screen section, a program launched last year that highlights innovative series created by TV producers and streaming platforms.

Filmed and released in its native Australia as The Unlit, Witches of Blackwood is a slow-burning tale of family secrets and dark heritages. How does writer Darren Markey and director Kate Whitbread’s (Surviving Georgia) addition to the current folk horror revival compare to other recent additions like The Last Thing Mary Saw and The Righteous? Is it at least better than Hellbender?
Claire is a cop. She’s currently on suspension pending the results of an investigation of a suicide that happened in her presence. A call from her Uncle Cliff (John Voce; Primeval) with news of another death brings her back to her hometown of Blackwood.

Alice Englert (“Beautiful Creatures,” “Ratched”) and Nicholas Denton (“Glitch,” “Pillars”) will star as Merteuil and Valmont in Starz’s “Dangerous Liaisons” TV series, the pay TV channel said Thursday, describing the show as “the story of a young woman who negotiates love, sex, class and power to navigate an oppressive, unjust establishment on the brink of collapse.”
Per Starz, “Dangerous Liaisons” is a bold reimagining of the iconic characters from Pierre Choderlos de Laclos’ classic 18th century novel and tells the origin story of how the Marquise de Merteuil and the Vicomte de Valmont meet as passionate young lovers in Paris on the eve of revolution. Driven to right the wrongs of their past, we follow the couple as they rise from the slums of Paris and scale the heights of the French aristocracy, seducing and manipulating both the nobility and each other to survive.

Director Rodney Ascher’s specialty is obsession, but his approach succeeds as compassion. After giving voice to people consumed by “The Shining” (“Room 237”), ventriloquist dummies (“The Wooden Boy”) and sleep paralysis (“The Nightmare”), he’s shifted his attention to simulation theory with “Glitch in the Matrix,” premiering at Sundance just before it goes into wider release.
A subject tailor-made for college, festival and midnight audiences, simulation theory questions human determination by positing that we are merely avatars, and that some greater force — an external gamer, if you will — is our master manipulator.
Much of this concept comes directly from sci-fi writer Philip K. Dick, who is copiously represented throughout “Glitch.” Ascher makes much use of a recorded 1977 event in which Dick presents these ideas with utmost sincerity, even while admitting that “I may be talking about something which does not exist. Therefore, I am free to say everything and nothing.

Actor Gulshan Devaiah says the greatest fear for an actor is to be forgotten and become irrelevant.
"The forgotten become irrelevant and that's the greatest fear for an actor. This can be anybody's reality. It's a tough business. It kills the mind, breaks the spirit of people & yet we come flocking in the thousands. Best wishes to Mr Samir Khakhar & everyone else who's an actor," Gulshan tweeted on Saturday.
His post comes as a reaction to a post which stated that "Samir Khakhar who played the role of Khopdi in Nukkad is looking for work".

Leanne Tonkes and Emma Freeman.
Growing up in a remote town in South Australia in the 1950s, Emma Freeman’s mother often heard the circus troupe which camped in fields nearby.
Fascinated by this unusual group of people, like many young girls she contemplated running away and joining the circus, but did not do so.
That became the inspiration for The Circus, a passion project for writer-director Freeman, which she is developing with her long-time collaborator, producer Leanne Tonkes.
It’s among six Australian projects selected for Attagirl, the feature film development lab for female and non-binary creative teams.
Set in rural 1950s Australia, the narrative follows a beautiful, feisty circus performer who meets a lonely and determined female farmer, forcing them to decide to conform or follow their hearts.

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health reported Tuesday that the region comprising the City of Los Angeles, Pasadena and Long Beach has 1,901 confirmed new cases of coronavirus and 57 new deaths over the past 24 hours. Those numbers will likely rise however, the agency warned today, after confirming that the county was among those impacted by tech issues with the electronic laboratory system that has resulted in undercounts across the state.
“The department has implemented an independent strategy to obtain accurate data and a team from the department is now working urgently to reach out to at least 81 labs to obtain all Covid-19 test results from July 26 to the present to determine the accurate positive case count in Los Angeles County for the time period in question,” Public Health officials said in a press release today, noting it had flagged issues with the reporting for the past two weeks.

Ever since the coronavirus pandemic began earlier this spring, Netflix and other streamers have been busy acquiring tremendous amounts of horror content. Why people are wanting to see stories that destroy rather than affirm our faith in humanity – especially in dark times such as these – seemed baffling at first, but there may be a good reason for it.
According to a recent study conducted by one University of Chicago student, people who like horror movies are better equipped to deal with a pandemic – at least, mentally speaking – than those who do not like horror. And that’s because people who enjoy the genre have a stronger sense of morbid curiosity. Loosely defined as an illogical and counter-intuitive attraction toward and fascination with all things ugly and unpleasant, it makes the scary interesting.
For those of you who think you’ve got a strong enough sense of morbid curiosity, then, here...

Facing the prospect that the Federal Government will impose local content spending obligations on SVOD services, Netflix asserts it wants the right to negotiate how much it invests over the next three years.
In its submission to the government’s ‘Supporting Australian Stories on Our Screens’ options paper review, the streaming giant proposes a “flexible, reasonably-set voluntary investment model that meets cultural policy goals and incentivises wider investment.”
Netflix rejects option 3, which is favoured by Screen Producers Australia and all industry guilds and would require all delivery platforms to invest a minimum percentage of their Australian revenues into local scripted content, with annual sub-quotas for drama, documentary and children’s programs.
This model has “the potential to cause significant problems for the sector, including the reality that there is currently insufficient physical production capacity for this option to work meaningfully in practice,” it says, which arguably ignores the...

Sally Riley takes a selfie while working from home.
ABC head of scripted production Sally Riley sheds light on her latest commissions, explains how the broadcaster is coping with the drama production shutdown and gives an update on her development slate.
Q: Last month you commissioned Entitled from Kitty Flanagan and Porclight Films and The Newsreader from Michael Lucas and Werner Film Productions. What grabbed you about both?
A: Both of these projects have relationships and family at their heart. With Entitled, Kitty Flanagan is a big draw for us and audiences love her and we are very happy that the ABC is her broadcaster of choice for her first narrative show. What grabbed me is how Entitled deals with families that are coping with grief and dealing with probate issues – which I know from personal experience is a very tricky time, when families can either come together or implode,...

U.S. giants Netflix and Nickelodeon are the world’s leading providers of children’s shows, more or less on a par. But the BBC’s kids’ brand Cbbc ranks second and is also much more balanced in terms of its output of kids’ originals.
Rankings and breakdown of product type were among the takeaways of the Fresh TV Kids digital panel held Tuesday as part of the virtual MipTV market by analyst Virginia Mouseler looking at what’s trending in kids’ TV.
The main current trend “is that Netflix has become the major provider of original kids programs on a par with Nickelodeon,” said Mouseler, CEO of research outfit The Wit. She noted that the two companies recently joined forced on “Glitch Techs,” the animation show about two kids recruited to battle video-game monsters that have found their way into the real world.

Samantha Strauss on the set of ‘The End.’
Two days ago Samantha Strauss spent much of the day under the doona, literally crying about the state of the world.
Yesterday Strauss, one of the country’s most successful screenwriters, was back at her computer, working on multiple projects in development for Made Up Stories and Nicole Kidman’s Blossom Films, Joanna Werner and See-Saw Films, including a second season of The End.
“I’m incredibly lucky but it is such a time of unparalleled shitness. I still have some scripts to deliver so that will tide me over for a while.” she tells If.
“It does feel like there’s a responsibility for us content makers to work our arses off right now and have a whole lot of local content ready to be made, just as soon as this hell is over.”
Meanwhile writer Shaun Grant is at home in Los Angeles,...
