With Lovecraft Country still providing HBO and HBO Max with its horror content through October, the streamer is looking elsewhere for its spooky season offerings. HBO Max’s new releases for October 2020 feature some truly awesome horror library titles.
Jordan Peele’s Us, John Carpenter’s The Thing, and David Fincher’s Se7en all arrive on Oct. 1. That alone should be enough to last you through spooky season. And if it doesn’t, It: Chapter Two is right there as well. October is also a big month for Batman and Superman with Man of Steel arriving on Oct. 1 along with a whole of animated specials dropping that same day.
In relation to the library titles, this isn’t HBO Max’s strongest month from an original perspective. But there is still plenty to like here. The West Wing election special arrives on Oct. 15. That will be followed by David Byrne...

Since Burning Love burst onto Yahoo in 2012, Jonathan Stern and Keith Quinn have served as executive producers for some of the web’s funniest shows, including Hulu’s Hotwives, Fullscreen’s Filthy Preppy Teen$, and the video on-demand special Beef. These shows have often featured the same comic actors within their respective casts, and two of those stars -- Rob Huebel (Human Giant) and Paul Scheer (The League) -- are the co-creators of Stern and Quinn’s latest concoction, a Go90 series called Drive Share.
Drive Share takes places within the cars-for-hire of a fictional ridesharing app called Drvshr. While that in itself is not the most novel idea for a web series, Drive Share manages to be particularly funny by adopting a “semi-scripted” approach and letting the skills of its talented cast members shine through. The first episode, for example, features Huebel, Love’s Claudia O’Doherty, and several...

In 2014, Jonathan Stern and Keith Quinn--who both served as executives for the critically-acclaimed Yahoo web series Burning Love--teamed up with Fox for a first-look deal. Now, four comedy series born out of the partnership between Fox, Stern, and Quinn have been announced. Among other projects, the producing duo are planning Filthy Sexy Teen$, a salaciously-titled series that will premiere online via the Fullscreen network.
Filthy Sexy Teen$ will be produced through Stern's Abonimable Pictures, which in addition to Burning Love has produced two other reality TV parodies: The Hotwives of Orlando and Beef. In Teen$, "two wealthy teen siblings, thought to be lost at sea, return home and attempt to re-climb the high school social ladder," according to information from Fox.
Each of the eight episodes in Teen$'s first season will run for a half-hour. The series will make its North American debut via Fullscreen, which claims...
