The Sanctuarium in the film is based on the Ukrainian Cultural Center in Tallinn. Situated in its Old Town, it consists of a church, a small monastery, a museum as well as an old printing house, to mention its main parts.
The film location, the Ukrainian Cultural Center, is a prominent place for hosting events. On one occasion it was visited by filmmakers, jury members and guests of a local film festival such as Sergei Loznitsa, Ed Lejano, Bina Paul among others.
Most of the things featured in the film are hand-made by Anatoli Ljutjuk, the head of the Cultural Center.
The film titles were written (by hand) by a calligraph working at the Center whom the film director met during the filming.
