It was really sad episode for the beginning of second season. However, maybe it was all I needed because it felt very warm from BoJack.

This was an incredible start to season 2! This was just the right balance of dark humor and emotional moments of character!
This episode sees BoJack attempting to be happy and never let anything wear him down! Convinsing himself that everything will be alright no matter what... but we all know how hard that can be!
This also provided us with an insight into his childhood and his relationship with his mother! If I had a mother like that.. I think I would be broken too! Nobody is born like that.. they are shaped by their environment!
That last phone call really hits hard as we can tell how much BoJack wants to change and escape it all! Becoming a better person!

Quite a very strong start to what I think is going to be a promising season. There are just a few cringe moments which are mainly the acting parts for the Secretariat movie, but ignoring that, it's great.
And from the beginning to the middle to the end, Beatrice constantly puts BoJack down, even when she's apologizing. God, she makes me sick.

This is the best episode I've seen yet! The Bojack series started off slowly but it has really hit it's stride in the second season. This episode does a good job of bringing all the characters you love into the action, Bojack is the star of the show as always but the supporting cast chips in to make this a fun and entertaining episode!

The overall emotions and vibes amount this episode gives off towards the end is considerably depressing. I assume this is where BoJack really takes a turn towards being more serious after having put us through a rather ironic first season.
This is a really strong beginning for the second season and it's raising my expectations higher than I thought. This episode is definitely unskippable and cannon unlike some episodes in the first season. The comedy all in all isn't top-notch but this episode truly delivers. 9/10

Fantastic start to a second season. The humour doesn't stop, and the sketch with Dianne being unable to help, and delegated to stopping people tripping over a wire is hilarious. It's also coupled with the introduction of his mother, who has some very, very dark lines, which completely changes the tone of the episode. A very good episode.

I've enjoyed seeing the episodes where our horse is a child. If we treat this show as real drama, I think it's OK to treat it seriously when it comes to human cause and effect. Here we see Bojack as unable to get out of rut that his parents put him in.
Rewatching Is One Other Unique Experience

Empathy with Bojack was something I felt before, but watching all over knowing enough about Bojack is.. Something different.
Not maybe all of us are like him but I am a definite Bojack myself. Broken in his childhood, did his best to put many efforts, being indeed talented on some parts of life but in middle ages, seems anything pointless or missing everything, sabotaging yourself any everyone you touch.
I especially write here because there is a part that Beatrice tells Bojack he cannot cure being himself. Very painful sentence yet life goes on and at one stage, has to go on.
Also for rewatchers I do suggest going slow because it's hard to swallow a big.bite once and keep eating.

Bojack starts filming a new movie whilst trying to display a new attitude, but emotional problems get in the way.
This is a strong start to the second season that starts and finishes in pretty dark places for Bojack.
In the middle of these two bleak moments we see Bojack attempting (in the most desperate and superficial way possible) to show he is different person and (in an over the top way) it feels quite familiar to me. It is in some ways funny, but generally it is pitiful.
Much of the humorous banter between characters is very well written, but there is only so much you can laugh when there is so much pain underlying a character portrayal. I enjoyed the black humour about the 'dangerous' cable on the movie set, the reference to Sebastian St. Clair, and most of the banter involving the character Kelsey Jennings.
