Does not make you want to see the movie Warning: Spoilers
"Will Smith: Black Suits Comin' (Nod Ya Head)" is a 4.5-minute music video from 2002, so this one has its 15th anniversary this year. The director here is Austrian Francis Lawrence, who was a prolific music video director back then and worked with many greats like Jennifer Lopez for example as well on several occasions. Here he works mostly with Will Smith as this short "film" includes the official song for the 2002 sequel to Men in Black. The song is somewhat catchy, but I still believe hearing it once really is enough as lyrics wise and apart from the slightly catchy chorus, it has very little to offer. The music video is a disappointment, not effects-wise or so, but it is as spectacular as it is empty. Usually these film-themed music video have it fairly easy while they can just include great and spectacular moments from start to finish during its brief runtime and the film has to make sure there aren't too many lengths in 90 minutes or even longer. But here it is the other way around. The music video is very generic and forgettable and the film was actually worth watching without being great either. But now enough about the film as the focus here should of course be on the music video. I give it a thumbs-down. Not recommended.
