Since the first season, Holt and Jake have been one of the funniest part of the 9-9 and that's no exception here when after Jake tries to spend time with Holt by solving a cold case together because Kevin is in Paris hilarity ensues. They end up getting the mumps and quarantined together to try to solve the case. We get to see some great moments from Jake and Holt, and some funny bits with Santiago, but the episode falls flat with the B-plot and the C-plot. The B-plot consists of Terry taking charge of the precinct, not really funny or interesting, maybe a chuckle here and there, and Hitchock and Scully aren't as funny as usual. Then in a C-plot, Boyle's dog dies and Rosa tells him to get over it until she gets a dog and learns the bond people have with pets. Really rushed and unnecessary and no one is really funny, maybe they could have kicked that one out for more Jake and Holt stuff. Overall, 9 Days is a good episode that would have a higher score if it weren't for the let-down of the B-plot and the C-plot it would have been scored higher.
