I was fortunate enough to attend the Pittsburgh premiere of this wonderful documentary about Rachel Carson, a foundational figure in the environmental movement (and native of Pittsburgh). The film features interviews with many leaders and those who knew Carson personally, including her adopted son. It sheds a light on the humanity of this gifted scientist, writer and leader when, more than ever, we find ourselves in need of visionaries like her.
Mark Dixon is making a name for himself as a voice for the environment in our time, with this follow-up to "YERT: Your Environmental Road Trip", a light-hearted but serious (not a contradiction!) account of environmental discovery. Check both films out if you are concerned about the environment or just interested in engaging documentary films.
