Well done, pretty tense and interesting

Warning: Spoilers
"Monsters" is an American 13-minute short film from 2015, so still relatively fresh. It is of course in the English language and the (so far) most known work by writer and director Steve Desmond. he made this one actually after taking a break of roughly a decade from filmmaking and it's nice to see him return in style and I think judging from this one here, we can expect more quality by him in the future I hope. This is the story of a teenage girl living in a family's basement. They hide her away and I felt pretty quickly that they may be the evil ones and not that they are the ones protecting the girl from danger. But nothing is what it seems in here and you'd better be prepared for some twists in terms of the story. I must say it was almost too many for this brief runtime, but it's all good nonetheless. The ending also adds a nice little sci-fi element to the film and I enjoyed watching it for sure. Positively surprised I am here and I think the actors all did a good job, even if they did not really have too much to work with like the neighbors standing outside watching. The actors who play the family were also convincing and the child actress did a good job too. Nice casting, nice writing, nice acting, atmosphere is pretty tense too. This film is a successful achievement and I recommend checking it out. I could even imagine a full feature film made based on this one. We'll see if that happens at some point.

A tight little thriller...
MrGKB24 November 2017
Warning: Spoilers
...that would get an approving nod from Rod Serling, "Monsters" is readily available online via YouTube and probably elsewhere. A solid cast led by up-and-comer Caitlin "Martyrs" Carmichael, and featuring Christopher "Jericho" Wiehl, Joey "The Long Road Home" Luthman, and too little of Ione "River's Edge" Skye, is ably put through their paces by writer/director/producer Steve Desmond, who really ought to get a shot at the brass ring of making a feature film. Only time, and a dose of luck, will tell on that, of course. Meanwhile, hie thee to YouTube and enjoy; I caught it on the Screamfest channel.

Amazing Mental Ride
CorpeningMedia2 March 2020
For the 13 minutes you'll spend watching this short movie, you will be rewarded with more mental twists and turns than are often found in a feature-length. You will think you have it figured out, but you won't until the final spoken words. Available for free on YouTube, I recommend you watch!

At the first sigh, you know. The plot, the details, the roud of film, the lead idea. But you wrong. In two occasions. And that turns are the basic motifs for see this smart short film, example of beautiful cinematography and interesting script , about a girl, her family, the monsters and a huge mistake. A real interesting film. With status of warning.
