- DI Goodman and DS Florence Cassell investigate the murder of travel business executive Annette Burgess who was shot in her bed. Burgess and several members of her executive team were on the island as part of an intense team building course. It appears she was shot in her sleep but Goodman notices that she was not using the earplugs or night mask she had brought with her. No one heard a shot and all of them say they slept through the night. Almost everyone there had reason to dislike her: her biological son, who she abandoned at birth; her PA. whom she constantly abused; her sister, who discovered she having an affair with her boyfriend; and the company executive she stole a valuable business idea from. The lack of fingerprints leads them to the killer.—garykmcd
