Say what you want about this game, but it reinvigorated a genre that was literally on life support. Tony Hawk games dominated the first half of the 2000s and began falling short around the time of American Wasteland (2005?) and only continued to get worse. The future appeared superbly bleak for fans of the genre until Skate and Skate 2 injected a hearty dose of fun into its veins.
As far as I'm concerned, this was an instant classic. My personal favorite of the bunch.
