  Pam Fields : They think your attendance could endanger the other students' safety. And from what I understand about the gallery situation, I don't completely disagree.

  Hanna Marin : [at Marin household]  I do. They can't punish us.

  Ashley Marin : It's not a punishment.

  Hanna Marin : Really? Being disinvited to your own prom? What would you call it?

  Ella Montgomery : [at Montgomery household]  A blessing. If Charles, A, or whatever he calls himself, was bold enough to pull that stunt with the photos, he's not gonna be scared to crash a school party.

  Aria Montgomery : Well, then, fill the ballroom with police. It's fairytale themed, they can come as the village idiots.

  Ella Montgomery : You can still celebrate that night in a quiet, more intimate way. Veronica has offered to host a small gathering in the backyard barn.

  Aria Montgomery : You're kidding me.

  Spencer Hastings : [back at the Hastings]  Seriously?

  Veronica Hastings : Why not?

  Spencer Hastings : Because it's filled with Melissa's stuff. How is that a banquet hall?

  Veronica Hastings : You can roll up a rug.

  Spencer Hastings : And what? Take our prom pictures on top of a washer and dryer?

  Ashley Marin : [at Marin home]  Hanna, you don't have a choice. If the school board doesn't want you at prom or commencement...

  Hanna Marin : Commencement? Wait, we were barred from that too? So, now I'm not gonna graduate?

  Pam Fields : [at Fields household]  You will graduate. You just won't be walking across the stage to get your diploma. You'll be...

  [covers her face with her hands] 

  Pam Fields : I'm sorry.

  Spencer Hastings : [at the Hastings home]  No. I'm sorry. I spent the last two weeks writing that stupid valedictorian speech that I didn't even wanna give in the first place.

  Veronica Hastings : Honey, the circumstances have changed since you started writing that speech.

  Spencer Hastings : I know. It went from a pity toss to a humiliation hurl.

  Veronica Hastings : Please. Stop focusing on what you don't have. And focus on the fact that you're here. And you have four dear friends that you can celebrate with.

  Spencer Hastings : That barn is not big enough for us, our dates, and our poufy dresses.

  Veronica Hastings : You'll open a window.

  Aria Montgomery : [later that morning, at Rear Window]  That's what she said?

  Spencer Hastings : Oh, no, there was more. She said something about hanging twinkly lights on Melissa's shower curtain, but by that time I was already halfway up the stairs.

  Aria Montgomery : I guess it could be worse.

  Spencer Hastings : Really? How?

  Aria Montgomery : I'm thinking.

• Spencer Hastings : It's not about me. It's about Alison. Look, I understand why you're angry. Okay, stealing that key card, it was stupid. And it was impulsive, and it put you in a really terrible position. But she just didn't think it through.

  Officer Lorenzo Calderon : You sure about that? Because ever since I got to Rosewood, all I've heard about Alison is that she's a master planner and manipulator.

  Spencer Hastings : Yeah, but you didn't believe that. You gave her a chance.

  Officer Lorenzo Calderon : I gave her more than that. And look where we are.

  Spencer Hastings : Look, Lorenzo, uh...

  [sits down] 

  Spencer Hastings : I know how you feel. I mean, I have been used and abused by that girl more times than I can possibly count. But she has changed.

  [nods] 

  Spencer Hastings : She's been through so much. And she's desperate. And I know that she needs you.

  Officer Lorenzo Calderon : No. I think she got what she needed.

  Spencer Hastings : I think you're wrong. Alison never had anyone like you in her whole life. Somebody who saw something in her that was vulnerable and genuine.

  Officer Lorenzo Calderon : I did. But I don't anymore.

  Spencer Hastings : And there's... really no way you could ever forgive her?

  Officer Lorenzo Calderon : Not yet.

  [gets up to leave] 

  Spencer Hastings : Okay, okay. Look. Um. If you change your mind, we're having a prom-ette in the barn behind my house tonight. And maybe you could... surprise her. Maybe you could... surprise yourself.

• Spencer Hastings : [dancing with Toby]  Why would she say that? Why would she say that I never even liked her?

  Toby Cavanaugh : Oh, because she hasn't always been the easiest person to like.

  Spencer Hastings : Yeah, but we came here to protect her. That's all any of us have been trying to do for weeks. Years. We basically missed out on our high school experience trying to solve the mystery that is Alison. The only reason we survived is because we had each other.

  Toby Cavanaugh : Is that what your speech is about? For commencement?

  Spencer Hastings : Oh, my God. Just forget about the stupid speech. Nobody's ever gonna hear it.

• Toby Cavanaugh : [dance continues]  Did you write about your friends?

  Spencer Hastings : I wrote about what I thought it meant to support someone unconditionally, even when they haven't been entirely honest with you. And how everybody needs somebody to be inspired by. Somebody who sets the bar really high. Somebody who'll put someone else's needs before their own. And not resent them for it. Somebody who always expects you to do the right thing. But then forgives you when you don't.

  Toby Cavanaugh : Well... I think your mother will be pretty moved by that.

  Spencer Hastings : Yeah, she might be. But I wrote it about you.
