Neat making of doc
Woodyanders16 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This 13-minute documentary covers some pretty interesting and illuminating ground on the making of the straight-to-video horror sequel "Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings." Writer/director Declan O'Brien talks about the difficulty found in coming up with new ways to kill people, the pressure of shooting the movie in a frantic 19 days, and the added stress of coping with freezing cold weather throughout the shoot. Producer Kim Todd points out that filmmaking by nature is about problem solving. Moreover, we also learn that the execution for many of the gore gags had to be figured out with a matter of minutes, the make-up for the inbred cannibal freaks consisted of five prosthetic pieces, and three Canadian stunt guys were cast to play said inbred cannibal freaks in the picture. Worth a watch for fans of the film.

Making Another Wrong Turn (2011)

** 1/2 (out of 4)

Thirteen-minute featurette takes us behind-the-scenes of the making of WRONG TURN 4. Writer-director Declan O'Brien is joined by producer Kim Todd and many of the actors in the film. At just 13-minutes there's obviously not going to be a lot of details about the making of the picture but what's here is certainly entertaining. The director talks about the difficulties of working on a 19-day schedule including the horrors of having to deal with the ultra cold temperatures. From here the producer talks about what her job on the set was and why it's so important to keep everyone on the same page. From here various cast members talk about the gory special effects, the cold and shooting in such few days. MAKING ANOTHER WRONG TURN wasn't made to be a masterpiece. It was included on the film's Blu-ray release so obviously it's just a promotional piece but fans of the film should enjoy it.
