A soviet partisan-soldier and a German soldier are soon being bound together by circumstances and due to the existence of some kind of respect for the life of the other - although during the films action this respect becomes visible mostly by the actions of the partisan. Anyway, they try to find their way in no man's land far up in the north under severest weather conditions. Being the protagonist of the film, the partisans short flashbacks of time before the war (II world war) feature throughout the film. Ends with a surprise jump to sometimes after the war - probably quite close to the time when this film was shot. A film produced as mini TV series coming in 3 parts. I felt the film and its action so intense that I would have liked to watch it as one long film.
