The game was on Steam's Greenlight system for a few hours, but was taken down by Valve. Valve's CEO Gabe Newell personally sent the developers an email letting them know the game was back on Steam's Greenlight system and apologizing for it's removal.
When the player completes the game on one of the two highest difficulties, they are given access to a well deserved cheat menu.
Fans of the game like to refer to the player character as Not Important, Notam Portant, or Notim Portant because the first trailer began with the character saying the phrase "My name is not important". However, the official name for the character is The Antagonist.
The voice actor for The Antagonist (who is ironically the protagonist of the story), preferred that his name not be released, instead having the developers refer to him with the pen name "Clint Westwood"
Due to the game's high impact violence, the game was effectively banned in Australia and Germany, the two infamous countries with strict law regulations on video game violence.
