Just before being lowered into the vault, we see the nuclear detonation and mushroom cloud to the south east.

Kellogg shoots the player character's spouse in the head from point blank range with a pistol that is later revealed to be a .44 Magnum. Shaun is in the spouse's arms. The average gunshot is 140 decibels, which would render Shaun completely deaf.
Father's explanation concerning why the player's family were targeted by the Institute involves genetic purity. But the player and their family are standing on the vault platform, barely being six feet below surface level as the blast wave from the nuclear explosion sweeps over the hole in the ground that leads into the vault. This would irradiate everyone on the platform, resulting in significant, if not terminal, genetic damage.
It is not possible with current technology, nor the technology displayed in the year 2077 of the Fallout universe, to cryogenically freeze a person without killing them in the process.
Throughout the map of Fallout 4 and its expansions, old prepackaged foods and bottles of Nuka-Cola are found everywhere. The player is allowed to consume these to replenish their health. Over 210 years, these foods and liquids would expire to the point of becoming quite dangerous to consume.

Terminal entries in the Vault-Tec Regional HQ, show that Jet was shipped to Vault 95 prior to the Great War. However, Jet wasn't created until around 2241. More than 150 years after the war.
During the intro, there is a flashback to world war 2 in which we see Nates great, great grandmother and great grandfather. A bottle of Nuka-Cola is seen resting beside them. However, the first Nuka-Cola didn't enter the market until 2044. 100 years later.
Numerous sources put the time of the player character first being cryogenically frozen and the time of them escaping the Vault 210 years apart. Efforts to clean up Boston and make it liveable once again would have taken place. Over this length of time, the likelihood of a major population centre like Boston remaining this dilapidated is zero.
