Shiva Rajkumar's performance is the only highlight.....
fillerruth11 February 2017
At the first time, I was not a big fan of Kannada movies. I thought they were not making good films and their industry was not so big that's why the quality of the movies were not worth watching. But after watching at least 10-15 movies I had to say their movies are good and worth watching also. After watching some good movies I am a fan of Puneet Rajkumar (Very good), Yash (the best), Darshan, Sudeep and so on. I know Shiva Rajkumar is the biggest name in this industry and for this reason, I was curious about this movie and it was an anticipated movie for me.

Well, this movie is not a very bad nor a very exceptional one. This is a worth watching movie only for Shiva Rajkumar. This is a highlighted treat for especially Shiva Rajkumar's fan. The story and the script are totally made upon him and he took the whole responsibilities on his shoulder to make this film worth watching.

This is not a typical orphan story or a regular revenge drama. There are lots of twists and cameos in this movie. The first half of this movie is very good. Full of comedy and especially the songs are very good. The song Vajraka is the best and the cameos (I don't want to reveal) of this song give an extra charisma. Editing of this movie is very good and direction is also top class. Though the character development and continuations are not up to the mark. Like after the end of the story why Shiva Rajkumar did not go or meet with his adopted father and mother? But after all of this movie is the perfect highlight of Shiva Rajkumar's Performance.

If you overlook the minor mistakes and goofs this will be a worth watching masala movie for Shiva Rajkumar's fan.

Entertaining action, family drama

"I'm determined like Lord Ram, powerful as Lord Hanuman.....l'm Vajrakaya who has come to shake the mountain."

9/10

Vajrakaya is an entertaining film. It offers great action and some decent comedy scenes. The film plays with the idea of loving your mother like a goddess. The story is in the same vein of S/O Satyamurthy (2015), Mirchi (2013), Atharintiki Daaredi (2013). Anyone who liked these titles will love this one as well.

Viraj (Shiva Rajkumar) is living a good life with his well to do family. He is a devoted son to his parents and an ideal elder brother to his two siblings. By a random incident he gets to know that this is not his real family and his biological mother is still alive. Hero decides to meet his biological mother. He sets out on a journey to a place much like the mythological Lanka to free his mom from his grandfather who is like a Ravana in that village. Will this Bajrang bhakt be able to meet his mother?

The film utilizes Shiva Rajkumar's fame fully. There are many references to his previous film and stardom. Shiva Rajkumar shines in action and drama scenes. Most of the cast did wonderful job as well. The one playing the Huzoor was excellent. Nabha Natesh was great in her role.

The action was really well done. The fight before the interval was superb. Shiva showed great energy both in action and dance. I liked the songs. The first half was decent but the second half was the highlight of the film for me. I like this type of films that blend good story with lots of over the top action. Recommended if you S/O Satyamurthy (2015), Mirchi (2013), Atharintiki Daaredi (2013).
