Harry Shearer does not provide a voice in this episode, making it one of the rare episodes in recent years where he is noticeably absent.
The couch gag of this episode uses rotoscoped animation. Director Richard Linklater (whose 2014 film "Boyhood" influenced this episode) has used rotoscoped animation for three of his films, "Waking Life (2001)", "A Scanner Darkly (2006)" and "Apollo 10 1/2: A Space Age Childhood (2022)".
The names Andreychuk and Hamilton are mentioned as hockey players. This makes reference to Calgary, Alberta couple Marcia Andreychuk and Joel Hamilton, who garnered international attention for turning their kitchen into a replica of the one used by Marge Simpson on the show. In an odd turn of events, former hockey player Dave Andreychuk, who spent 22 seasons as a forward in the National Hockey League is from Hamilton, Ontario. Ironically enough, Andreychuk was the team captain for the Tampa Bay Lightning as they defeated the Calgary Flames for the franchise's first Stanley Cup championship in 2004.
