Wrath of the Sun Demon (1965)
*** 1/2 (out of 4)
This two minute film from Donald F. Glut features Bob Burns playing a man whose contact with the sun turns him into the title monster. This early film from Glut is obviously a homage to THE HIDIOUS SUN DEMON, the notoriously good Robert Clarke movie. I'm going to guess that Burns is wearing the actual mask from that film because it looks pretty good. I'm a fan of the Clarke film and I've never fully understood why some bash it so much. With that said, I found this homage to be incredibly entertaining and one of the best amateur shorts from Glut. Yes, the film is only two minutes but it's certainly a lot of fun and contains a nice little fight between the monster and a hero who shows up to save the girl.
