A perfect example of why the (young) people should not have the choice

This sounds like abortion-themed right? Oh well, that's not what it means. Here we have the Teen Choice Awards from 2015, an annual television event in which teenagers vote for what they considered the year's finest in terms of movies, acting, internet presence and many other aspects. The announcement of the winners is occasionally interrupted by music performances or by the hosts. The trio that hosted honestly lost right away with their very first appearance when they started lauding each other up to the skies which was truly embarrassing to see. Many more weak moments should come like many pretentious speeches about how the bad will go away in teenager's lives (most of all by serial winner Ellen DeGeneres) or the F&F crew dedicating their victory to the late Paul Walker, which rang extremely false. I am somewhat glad this same approach did not get them to an Oscar win in the song category. Also I found the winners pretty bad too and here the title of my review comes into play again. I am no sure if the likes of One Direction, Pretty Little Liars, Vampire Diaries etc. should be awarded in any way for what they do. It#s a bid of a sad state of affairs people appreciate their mediocre/garbage work. But what can you say about an awards show that has categories like Choice TV: Liplock, Choice Music: Break-Up Song or Choice (Fe)Male Hottie. So yes, the categories were crap, the winners were (mostly) crap and the music performances and hosting were equally crap. I mention Rachel Platten here as an exception because she was kinda decent, especially compared to the numbers that opened and closed the show. Also it was another example where I sometimes had the impression being present in the audience is sometimes good enough to win the awards, if your award is mentioned during the slightly under 90-minute show even. And with mentioned, I also mean that some awards were not included at all during this event, at least not for television audiences. I have seen that MTV Movie Awards for example stepped their game up recently when it comes to winners for example, or even for nominees, but this one here is still far far away from delivering quality. You should also stay far far away from watching it, or let your kids watch it and appreciate these false heroes.
