- [Agent Reade talks to Jane Doe about Agent Weller]
- Edgar Reade: Look, I know you think I'm the bad guy because I didn't welcome you with open arms.
- Jane Doe: You think I'm a liability. I don't know what more I can do to...
- Edgar Reade: I'm not worried about you. All of us depend on Weller. He's got better judgment than anybody I've worked with my whole career. He's made split-second decisions that have saved our lives more times than I can count.
- Jane Doe: I don't understand.
- Edgar Reade: When he's around you, the guy I lean on, the guy I know... isn't there. And that scares the hell out of me.
- Jane Doe: There's nothing I can do about that.
- Edgar Reade: I know. That's the problem.
- [Agent Reade comments on Agent Zapata's taste in men]
- Edgar Reade: I'm just glad to see you with a skinny dude for once.
- Tasha Zapata: What are you talking about?
- Edgar Reade: Oh, come on. Your usual types are mixed between Gladiator and Viking.
- Tasha Zapata: I do not have a type.
- Edgar Reade: I catch bad guys for a living, all right? The last two dudes you dated scared me.
- Tasha Zapata: Then you scare easily, 'cause they were a loan officer and a soccer coach.
- [Agent Zapata comments on Agent Reade's taste in women]
- Tasha Zapata: If you would stop paying attention to the way people looked, maybe you'd get out of that rut.
- Edgar Reade: Rut? Who's in a rut?
- Tasha Zapata: Oh, I see you... wiping that phone.
- Edgar Reade: It's a numbers game.
- Tasha Zapata: [Zapata shrugs her head] Last of the romantics.
- [CDC Deputy Director Rebecca Fine is on the run with her unsuspecting husband, when the two are pulled over by police]
- Ben Fine: [Ben pulls over hearing the police speaker phones] What the hell is going on?
- Rebecca Fine: [Rebecca leans to her husband] Look, I love you. Please understand. I am trying to save the world
- Ben Fine: What are you talking about?
- Rebecca Fine: I'm so sorry. But this will be faster.
- Ben Fine: [Rebecca pulls out a pistol and aims it to her husband's chest] Rebecca, what are you...
- [Rebecca pulls the trigger and then aims the gun up under her chin, pulling the trigger]
- [Doctor Suri talks to Agent Weller about his reason for needing to release the virus]
- Frank Suri: Rebecca and I spent our entire lives studying viruses. Do you know what the greatest threat to mankind is? Modern medicine.
- Kurt Weller: [Agent Weller tries to reach for his gun but can't with the hazmat suit on] Stop! Don't move!
- Frank Suri: We create all these vaccines, antibiotics... cures for diseases that should never be cured. This planet was not designed to support 8 billion people.
- Kurt Weller: You're a doctor. You work for the CDC. Your job is to save lives.
- Frank Suri: No, my job is to save the human race. If we do nothing, our destruction is guaranteed.
- Kurt Weller: That is insane.
- Frank Suri: No. It's already spiraling out of control. In your lifetime, we're going to see famine, drought, poverty, on an unimaginable scale. Somebody's got to have the courage to do what has to be done to save the human species.
- [Agent Zapata talks to Agent Weller about Jane Doe]
- Tasha Zapata: Why would they do this to her? Why kidnap a woman, wipe her memory, then tattoo her entire body with puzzles for us to solve?
- Kurt Weller: It makes her pretty hard to ignore.
- [Asst. FBI Deputy Director Mayfair disagrees with the unknown CIA Agent about what Jane Doe knows]
- Thomas Carter: Time is the last thing that we have. See, if your girl knows about Daylight, then who else does? And what do they know about us? What, you think it's a coincidence that she was gift-wrapped and delivered to your team? See, I don't like the proximity, and I don't like the question marks.
- Bethany Mayfair: Her mind was wiped. She's just a vessel for this information, that's all.
- Thomas Carter: What are you basing that on? What, a lie detector test and some psych evals? Just let me talk to her.
- Bethany Mayfair: I'm not handing her over to you so you can throw her in some cell and do whatever the CIA does to find things out.
- Thomas Carter: This doesn't have to be a straight favor. What do you need from me? Let's make a deal here.
- Bethany Mayfair: I need for you to get out of my office.
- Thomas Carter: So be it. Just remember this later... when everything's falling apart and you're asking yourself why, that I came to you first and tried to play nice. 'Cause the rest is on you.
- [Agent Weller gives Jane Doe a compliment]
- Kurt Weller: [Weller walks into the room] You were very brave today. Stupid... but brave.
- Jane Doe: I think there was a compliment in there somewhere.
- Kurt Weller: [Weller smiles and mutters] Yeah.
- [Agent Patterson tells Agent Weller about having one of Jane's teeth]
- Kurt Weller: All right, what am I looking at?
- Patterson: Molecules of coltan, which is short for columbite-tantalite.
- Kurt Weller: [Weller makes a joke] My favorite of all the tantalites.
- Patterson: They're trace isotopic elements I found in Jane's tooth.
- Kurt Weller: You pulled one of Jane's teeth?
- Patterson: Well, I-I-I took the one that was knocked out in the fight at the safe house.
- Kurt Weller: Right.
- Patterson: I mean, it was too good to resist. The human tooth is - Is a goldmine of genetic information. Besides, it's not like she can put it back in.
- [last lines]
- Kurt Weller: [Agent Patterson tells Agent Weller about the test results to Jane Doe's teeth] Your DNA tests confirmed that she's Taylor Shaw. So what are you saying? That's not true?
- Patterson: All I know is the DNA results directly contradict the isotope test.
- Kurt Weller: Is she Taylor Shaw, or not?
- Patterson: Both tests are conclusive, but both can't be true. I don't know who she is.
- [first lines]
- Dr. Walter Tunnel: [in a flashback, two CDC lab technicians are introduced while working on viruses in hazmat suits] Hey, Juliet, how's it going?
- Juliet Chang: Just out of the substrate, they're ready to go.
- Dr. Walter Tunnel: Great, put it in the incubator for 42 degrees.
- Juliet Chang: [Dr. Tunnel walks but begins to stumble] Walter...
- Dr. Walter Tunnel: [Dr. Tunnel starts to cough up blood from under his suit] Juliet?
- Juliet Chang: [Dr. Tunnel collapses to the ground as Juliet runs to his aid] Walter? Walter! Walter, it's okay! Walter, stay awake! Stay with me, okay. Walter? Oh, my God.
- [Agent Patterson tells the team of CDC Deputy Director Rebecca Fine's viral activity]
- Kurt Weller: Any idea what she's up to?
- Patterson: Nothing good, but according to CDC records, one of the missing vials contains a rare strain of viral hemorrhagic fever. Essentially the deadlier cousin of Ebola with no known cure.
- Bethany Mayfair: What would happen if that was released into the population?
- Patterson: An outbreak like we've never seen. Possibly millions of casualties.
- [Jane Doe tries to talk to Agent Weller about when she first went missing 25 years ago]
- Jane Doe: You blame yourself, don't you?
- Kurt Weller: For what?
- Jane Doe: The night I went missing. You think it was your fault. You know, ever since you told me I'm Taylor, I've... been focusing on what that means for me, but... you've been living with this for 25 years. Have you talked to your dad about me?
- Kurt Weller: My dad and I... it's not that simple. I can't talk about it right now, Jane.
- [Agent Weller tells Jane Doe a story about his childhood with Taylor Swift]
- Kurt Weller: [Weller sits beside Jane who's looking at a photo of the younger Taylor Shaw] We had a creek at the back of our house. Just out there. Used to go fishing there with my dad. We didn't - We didn't catch much, but, uh... I loved being out there. My sister, she was always inside playing with her dolls, but, uh... you were a tomboy. Anytime I was outside, you'd run out of your house and try to tag along.
- Kurt Weller: [Weller chuckles continuing with the story] We... we had this little wooden fort. I haven't thought about that for a long time.
- Patterson: [Agent Patterson interrupts by walking into the office room] Sorry. Weller, can I steal you for a second?
- Kurt Weller: Okay.
- Kurt Weller: [Weller stands up with a light smile] It's really nice... to have you back.
