Because of Visa issues, director Randy Kent was not able to travel to India for the production. They were one week away from the first day of shooting and the producers did not want to cancel or postpone so they came up with the idea of doing it over video conference. Several tests were done on Google Hangout, Whatsapp and Skype to see which software had the better results with Skype by far being the best.
The feature film was one of the first of its kind to be completely directed over Skype from Los Angeles with the physical production taking place in Bangalore, India.
Randy had a very detailed shot list of every single scene in the movie that he shared with the DP and production in India. He also had to make crude drawings for actor and camera blocking at the start of a shoot day and sent those along too. This was done mostly for bigger scenes or shots because he could not physically be on set to show everyone what he was looking for.
Director Randy Kent had to sleep during the day in order to stay up over night and be online for the production's daytime shoot schedule. This is because of the time difference between the two countries and this would last over the course of a year for a 30+ day shoot.
