Based on the short film of the same name, starring Mark Redpath (who reprises his role in the feature) and Tristan McKinnon.
The second feature film from the creators of Arrowhead (aka Alien Arrival), with the same producing team (Jesse O'Brien, Christian D'Alessi and Ben Whimpey) and cinematographer (Samuel Baulch). Like Arrowhead, Quanta was filmed on a shoestring budget.
Director Nathan Dalton is a long-time friend of Producer Jesse O'Brien and served in the camera department on his directorial debut Arrowhead (aka Alien Arrival). After that film was completed, the producing team moved forward with developing Dalton's idea into another ambitious, however more grounded, sci-fi feature, which became Quanta.
Shot on a microbudget, the production used a rotating crew which included five different gaffers, five focus pullers, and five sound recordists.
Shot in various locations around Melbourne, often without permission, with a run-and-gun crew.
