The Vickers Viscount 701 airliner (G-ALWF) used in this episode is on display at the Imperial War Museum at Duxford.
The belly dancer in a photo shown to Prince Philip is Egyptian belly dancer Samia Gamal.
Claire Foy (Queen Elizabeth II) and Ed Stoppard (Tony Longdon) also worked together on Upstairs Downstairs (2010) as Lady Persephone Towyn and Sir Hallam Holland respectively.
British European Airways (BEA) Vickers Viscount G-ANHB-appearing around 34:30-34:40-entered service in 1954, but was later owned and operated by Aero Clube De São Paulo as PP-SRN until withdrawn from service in 1969. It was destroyed by fire at Pedreira, São Paulo, Brasil in May 1993. The footage, therefore, is contemporary-the only way the filmmakers could show a BEA Viscount in flight.
When the royal party deplanes in Belfast, however, at about 36:40, and later on their return home, it's from a different aircraft: BEA Viscount G-ALWF. This is the oldest Viscount still surviving. It's held at the Imperial War Museum Duxford, where it is on public display and therefore available for these scenes. Besides BEA, it served from 1952-1971 with a succession of four different airlines in the UK.
G-AMOJ, on which they fly home, also shown in flight, entered serviced in 1953 and also served with four airlines in the UK besides BEA and retired in 1971. It was then scrapped.
