At the start of the show, the date is listed as 25/3/63, the day after the song's release. The song was released in the United States in December 1963.
Jake says his middle name is George. This is the first name he uses in the novel when he goes to the past.
While explaining his cover up for using a fake name in 1962 Jake says it's because he was in Witness Protection helping to bust a mafia case (using characters from The Godfather) The song that plays in the following scene is "Then He Kissed Me" is prominently featured in the film Goodfellas. In that film the main character Henry Hill is put in Witness Protection after his time in the mafia.
The belt Miss Mimi hands to Jake has the word "char" engraved on it. This is a reference to Stephen King's Dark Tower series, in which the word char means death in the high speech (the mythical language of the gunslingers).
