Jenny was originally created for the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Film Competition and Young Filmmakers Festival in Texas.
The original script of Jenny was denied by Antonio Gabriél's campus film UIL supervisor (who was submitting the film to the academic competition) for being "too dark".
The weather in San Antonio was clear and sunny leading up until the day of production, which caused the cast and crew to work entirely in rainy, near-freezing weather. The rain flooded the tennis court scene and added an extra night of production.
