Imtiaz Khan claimed the film went over budget and was stuck due to Kitu Gidwani playing games.
The film was titled "Sapno Ke Sahare" during production.
The film was based a famous stage drama by the same name. The slighted world of Indian theatre has at last acquired a 70 mm presence - big, bold, large-as-life Amjad Khan himself. The heavy-weight villain became quite a public hero when he first thundered into the cuckoo's nest in Chun Chun Karti Ayee Chidiya, a translation of the Jack Nicholson starrer and then appeared in Joe Orton's Loot, both adapted for the stage by brother Imtiaz. "Returning to the theatre is to me like returning home," said Amjad who is appearing on stage after 12 long years dedicated to celluloid. And now that he knows just how good that applause sounds, he has no intentions of leaving. Welcome home Gabbar Singh.
