What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? (1962) has won an Academy Award for Best Costume Design - Black-and-White.
Coincidently, one of the Best Director nominees that Joan Crawford announces is Frank Perry, who would go on to direct the infamous Joan Crawford biographic film Mommie Dearest (1981).
Joan Crawford (Jessica Lange) mentions to Anne Bancroft that she lost the lead role in Two for the Seesaw to Shirley MacLaine. Bancroft and MacLaine later played rivals in The Turning Point, which also featured Mikhail Barushnikov, who had been in a relationship with Lange.
Anne Bancroft is shown appearing in the play Mother Courage and her Children, which she did. Also appearing in this production was Gene Wilder, who went on to work three times with Bancroft's husband, Mel Brooks.
