SWEET INFERNO is another one of Godfrey Ho's endless cut-and-paste action movies from Hong Kong, although sadly for the fans there are no ninjas in this one. Instead, the bulk of the movie is some serious, probably Taiwanese drama about gang violence. The emphasis is very much on women being attacked and there's a lot of attempted rape added to the mix. Ho has gone in and added in lots of random action scenes, typically set in some unspecified woodland clearing and featuring bleached blond Caucasian actors battling to the death. Does it make any sense whatsoever? Not at all, but then Ho never did worry about making sense.
