An excellent tribute to the classic Brit films of the 1960's

This special music video is one of the main reasons why I love music videos to a higher extent, so much more than some actual movies. Oasis "The Importance of Being Idle" pays an excellent tribute to 1960's British films like the ones made by Karel Reisz, Lindsay Anderson, John Schelesinger and others. In reality, the homage is given to the classic "Billy Liar" (1963) starring Tom Courtenay and Julie Christie, but instead of them we have Rhys Ifans as Billy and Oasis band members in small roles. The short film recreates some scenes and uses of the device of having the characters working as undertakers. Mr. Ifans steals the show in a hilarious performance whether interacting with Oasis and other actors and extras, or being with himself getting ready to work or dancing with the other undertakers while preparing the coffin for the burial. It's all fun and good.

For cinema fans, this is a real treat where you can spot countless references and imagery from Brit flicks of the early 1960's. The elegance, the cinematography and the feeling of that decade is easily brought back in the 2000's with great style and presence, gotta feel nostalgic about those movies and that era. This is a must-see. 10/10.
